Yes, there are a shit ton of spoiled, entitled people out there, (and the poly orgy lego-collecting gamer-types definitely exist) but in my personal experience there really is a unique level of fuckery among American Boomers that you don't see among the older OR YOUNGER generations.

I've been lucky enough to be close to some WWII people before they died and some Silent Generation people now, and they do not act like the boomers. It's significant, too. I have only ever met a handful of boomers who act like what I see among their elders and - perhaps more interestingly - the parents younger than they are.
It's in everything. It's in how they talk about thier children as people, how they talk about finances, how they talk about entertainment, etc. it's something different that permeates the whole generational culture.

I don't want to deviate too far from the topic of the thread, but I feel the need to chime in on this. The whole "Muricans kick their kids out at 18" is far from standard at this point. At least that's been my experience anecdotally, everyone stays with their parents well into their 20s. Hell I know some people in their 30s with decent income still living with their parents.

Although I'm not so old that my parents were literal boomers. Maybe this is only recently becoming the norm again.

I just find it bizarre how reddit is so massive that entire communities can go completely unnoticed for months, and as far as I'm aware there's no real way to actually report any of them. Like are one of the admins going to check their inbox? lmao.

So reporting posts with the built-in tools goes to a mod queue first. Unless the admins decide to audit reports/mod-actions they don't really have visibility into it. User reports are more likely to get kicked over to a content and safety team. However while these are paid people, it's frequently very underpaid foreigners. Support/mod-help subreddits are more of a place to address major issues and for admin to announce their directives. Barring either of those it will be trawled by power/tranny-jannies looking to head issues off at the pass.

Unless it is setting them up for major negative PR or will hurt their IPO chances, admin largely does not care about day-to-day ops. The jannies know this and try to prevent issues from arising to that level to protect their fiefdom. There's a ton of backroom dealing that spawns from mods/admins working closely together and the former acting as a hiring pool for the latter. Even if some powerjanny/admin-darling is taking a dump on the law/TOS, they will probably politic their way out of real consequences. If there is no scrutiny forcing the issue, they can largely make problems go away.

There is however a ZenDesk Reporting Page that at least skips over mods to a paid intern or something. It's not as simple as reporting there and getting action. RDrama.net has quite the avid "ReportMaxxing" community that knows the ins and outs to working this. You may need an account to view these posts as they are in the "country club" for some measure of secrecy. @chiobu can probably help if you are having issues navigating their site.

So this is more a very-late-stage symptom of a cancer that has plagued reddit from the start. As a somewhat absolutist free-speech platform they built their success on a lot of communities they've since had to ban. Given their IPO woes they would really like for everyone to forget about them. With some gumption and luck the trannies avoided finding themselves in the "eye of sauron" like other older subreddits.

Tranny-jannies managed to use their lack of a life or friends as an advantage. They do have enough free time that you can have 24/7 tranny janny coverage pretty easily. One of the most utilized tools, Automod, is apparently very finnicky to figure out and one of the most generous experts is also a troon. They won't disclose this and ideally subreddit owners don't think to research themselves, and suddenly you've got governance/automod support contingent on not upsetting the troons. That subreddit is now a +1 to their count of subreddits they influence/control, and the scheme works even better the next time they pull it.

Of course even if you know of this menace you may find it's quite difficult to say no. Outright transphobia? Oof, say hello to a ban and them picking up the subreddit as unmoderated. Not enough mod coverage without the no-life tranny jannies? They have enough extras they can exploit these holes to post banworthy things to the subreddit. No automod? Better configure it to get the reports down or reddit will install someone (the tranny) who can.

This has been going on long enough that you have power-tranny-jannies moderating 100+ subreddits. With this "valuable experience" they are an obvious recruiting pool for actual admins. While less visible, it is quite apparent this infiltration has reached paid staff (see Aimee Challenor). They don't have to rely on gaming the system as much anymore. Piss off the wrong troon and they're calling in the big guns on-high.

A charitable view would be that it's popular with troons as it has become a "fort troon" of sorts. A more realistic perspective is institutional-level wagon-circling for any conceivable misdeed. Paired with the younger-skewing demographics on a pseudonymous site, and you have very fertile ground for grooming.

Where the fuck is this guy going to buy frames? You can get a picture that size framed for a fraction of that price, in a multitude of fancy styles and coatings. Even accounting for the medium (probably oil or acrylic on hardwood, which requires stand-offs if you're adding glass), you're not looking at more than a quarter of that amount.

This may be unpopular, but I'm inclined to keep the rule as is.

Just to be clear, the filter removes comments containing the phrase "wandering jew".

The word "jew", as you can see throughout this post's comment section, is not auto-censored in any way. We understand that this is not a slur and there is no intent to censor Jewish identity / culture or the use of that word by itself.

It is also not the moderation team's intent to censor discussion about this topic. As you can see we're leaving this post up, and it's not the first time we've seen a post like it.

I know that some Jewish people are not offended by the name "wandering jew", I also know that some most definitely are. Since there are several alternatives to the offensive name already in common use, it seems best to err on the side of being inoffensive for the sake of those that take offense.

The intent of the filter was to save people from having to point out the problematic nature of the phrase, since that is what most often happens here when it's used.

God is clearly referred to as both a man and a woman throughout Scripture, and according to the early church theology as explained in the words of Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite, God must contain all of the attributes of both masculinity and feminity, therefore making God neither male nor female, but both male and female and beyond male and female.
