Metal Gear

It seems like they are purposely hiding who the studio is, which might be a very bad sign, or very good. we just have to wait and see.

I did see some concerns regarding the guns in the remake, are they going to go the MGSV route and make fake guns or are they going to use real ones like 4 and before? Some images show actual AKs in guard hands, but that might change.
It'd be comically tone-deaf if they did, since MGS3 establishes Big Boss as a major gun nerd.

Metal Gear Solid already had a remake, Metal Gear Solid 2 despite having its fanboys hasn't become as iconic to the gaming public at large.

Starting with Snake Eater allows them to start "from the beginning" if it takes off and they decide to remake more games, which is why I'm sure it's titled "Delta" and not "Three". (why not start with Alpha if it's the first in the series? Why not Gamma since it was the third game? I dunno, but it still works better because retard normies don't know the Greek alphabet but will definitely know and be confused by a "3" in the starter game)

Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 would basically require making an entirely new game to meet the standards of AA/AAA gaming, mostly because of how outdated and simple Metal Gear 1 is, and how much Metal Gear 2 mirrors Metal Gear Solid in basic scenario and events.

Metal Gear Solid 3 has it's design, script and basic "blueprint" squared away. That is why they are pushing this as being faithful to Kojimas "vision". They're just copying the skeleton wholesale because while they probably want this to take off, they're not willing to put forth any more money or effort than they need to since they still don't really have evidence that Metal Gear will have the popularity today as it did before.

I think most of the weapons in MGS 3 get around having to pay for licensing and stuff simply for being Soviet/Chinese based and/or prototypes. IIRC the reason they didn't use real soviet weapons in MGS V had to do with the customization feature and simply keeping everything in line.

My guess is that mathematical and scientific fields use delta to signify a change in a quantity e.g. change in velocity (v) is written ∆v. Just a complete shot in the dark, though. Who knows?

This makes more sense for a remake than a game that still stands up modern AAA games (and still beats them in some respects). The events in Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake are the ground zero (heh) of the Metal Gear series, and would be more interesting to explore. Or maybe a game about Solidus Snake and his time in Liberia in the 1980's with a young Jack?

But I guess its easier for Konami to dump the fan favorite into a shiny new engine and remove the more 'problematic' stuff for modern audience sensibilities.

They produced Monster Jam: Path of Destruction, ported XCOM: Enemy Unknownto iOS and did the NieR:Automata The End of YoRHa Edition port for Nintendo Switch (they also did some mobile game and PS2 game ports over to PS4).
I heard the Nier for switch was a bit of a miracle in performance, so may not be in the worst of hands.

So any word if MGS4 will be on the Master Collection?
Master Collection is just a Part 1 with Solid, Sons of Liberty, and Snake Eater for now with the site asking for everyone to "stay tuned" for more. I'm almost certain that Konami is trying to figure out what the fuck to do with all of the copyrighted shit in MGS4 before announcing Part 2 with 4, PW, MGSV and maybe PO.

As for the remake, there are a few screenshots on the website. Looks like they're going for a SotC style remake where it just looks nicer, the level design seems pretty much intact.

I'm wondering if it has something to do with them taking down the games from digital storefronts a couple years ago because of copyrighted war footage. The only other copyright issue I can think of would be the various mentions of copyrighted products in some of the codec calls (especially in 3), but removing those would completely gut a lot the calls with Para-Medic and Sigint.

Surely with all that Pachinko money Konami makes they can just pay for another license?
