im trying to understand what he means by this because it doesnt make sense

he wants to copy stuff from here to make his website more like this one but doesnt want it to come off as copying? metaphorically it is the equivalent of liking someone elses burger so you season it the exact same way but you dont want to come across as copying it so instead of grilling it you decide to just boil it
