I like how he's not posting any evidence or receipts whatsoever and people are just supposed to take his words on it. Maybe if he trooned out before and did the exact same thing, people would believe him lmao
That is really good advice actually. Personally I don't believe anything he says unless he cuts off his penis. If he does that, that would change everything and show some dedication.
Do it Dan. Cut it off. No one will attack you or harass you anymore if you cut it off. You will have the protection of the troon keeping you safe from people being mean to you. Cut it off.

Presumably, his next step is to move to Japan, troon out, then fake his death.
At this point I'm half expecting Daniel Micay to do to Louis what Byuu did to the Farms. I think that would be a mistake, as Louis has a lot of regular Joes in his fan base. I can't see too many actual farmers turning on Louis based on Twitter histrionics.
He's a really intelligent guy, has a lot of really informative videos about board repair and navigation within the realms of that type of business, is one of the major driving forces behind right-to-repair legislature and he is literally one of us (he has an account, posts, scrolls and has made mention of us in a positive light to his Telegram community).
Probably because he gets a much more positive reception from us than he does from Reddit. I've lost count of the number of times Louis has teed off at redditors shit-talking him and his videos.

my first thoughts on Louis:
Louis revealed to the internet that he thought his loving Italian Grandmother was a dumb racist at the beginning of his racism video from 7 years ago.
&
He wanted to watch an awful propaganda movie "inglorious bastards" for a romantic date, and he WANTED to pay money to see it, and not pirate it. From some recent video on piracy he made.

So for starters i think Louis is a fucking faggot, despite the good things he has done.
You win some you lose some. Like he always says he's just some guy on the Internet, you shouldn't rely on him being correct about everything.

And however woke and anti-racist Louis is, Daniel Micay is a thousand times worse, for attacking Cloudflare and complaining about how they "hosted" us and blocked some LGBTQ sites or whatever.
So Louis sticks his big 'anti-racist' nose into GraphenOS, gets into a pointless sperg battle with the head dev over nothing, Louis throws his weight around, the Head Dev freaks and leaves.

Gee, thanks Louis, can u get into pointless ego battles with people who arent making cool shit we want to use next time?
Did we watch the same video? This had nothing do with racism or anti-racism. And Louis is not a jew.

I'd place the bigger blame on Daniel here since, according to Louis, he was the one who messaged him out of the blue and confronted him over a comment he made on a YouTube video years ago. Not only that, but he threatened to publish all these accusations of Louis being complicit in attempted murder. So yes, Louis threw his weight around by publishing a video first, but only because Daniel threatened to throw his weight around.
On top of that Daniel Micay was an easy target for Louis to fuck with.
Why do you think Louis wanted to fuck with him? He's made several videos singing the praises of GrapheneOS and refuting misinformation, would someone who wants to fuck with him do that?
Louis could of easily acted like a gentlemen, looked at the bigger picture of a stressed out guy trying to create something good, and had a bit of compassion and understanding and finesse, but no, instead he wants to win a BS pissing contest for self-gratification and to make a gay video looking for internet ass-pats.
Yes, he definitely could have not published the video. Do I blame him for doing that? Not at all.

I think the best comparison here is, like many people have brought up, the Byuuicide. When Byuu emailed Null and suicide-baited, Null didn't publish the emails immediately. What did he get in return? Byuu published his sob story first and sparked tons of outrage against the site, to the point that Dreamhost terminated his account. Being a gentleman saved Null nothing and he might as well have published the emails immediately so he could get his side of the story out there first before Byuu did.

Same applies here.
What was Daniel Micay's big unforgivable crime?
According to Louis, this was the straw that broke the camel's back. But I certainly don't blame him for publishing the video since he just had some guy threaten to ban him from a Matrix room unless he deleted the comment he made on a YouTube video.

I came across this post from Daniel that predates any of the Techlore drama, proving he's been a schitzo for a while and refuses to post any evidence.

"If I post screenshots, people have just claimed that I forged them."
Projection much? Daniel also claimed that the screenshots in Techlore's video were forged (and hasn't ever given specific details, as far as I know).

Dramaniggering is occuring in Rust (surprise, surprise):

https://www.jntrnr.com/why-i-left-rust/ (a)

Basically they invited someone to be a keynote speaker, the dude was like "are you sure really really" a few times, and then they downgraded him at somewhat like the last minute. Bonus! The dude who was downgraded is a PoC, and a rust purity spiral has begun!

Rust acted as a cruel, heartless entity that did not care about JeanHeyd and treated him as disposable. Easy to offer a place of respect and just as quick to snatch it away. That is what Rust is because that is what Rust did.

It was JeanHeyd who called Rust out for having no Black representation among Rust conference speakers. Rightly so, as both the Rust organization and the conferences had little to no Black representation.

When I saw an organization that not only could act so coldly to an expert in the field, but also to one who was a vocal critic of Rust's lack of diversity, it was hard not to see the additional context.

this is gonna be fuuuuuun

That RustConf all the drama is about has COVID policies: https://rustconf.com/covid

Masks are required, proof of full vaccination is required, PCR test is required.

Is this kind of stuff still normal in the US? Or is this just specific to this conference or something? It's been so long I've had to deal with any COVID restrictions I had pretty much forgotten about them.

I'm not sure I still have my proof of vaccination.

Who would have thought that a language made by white tranny nerds wearing programmer socks, unable to think about anyone else than themselves, has no black representation?

How are you gonna get niggers when niggers can't even do maths or code read. :story:

they no longer care about stopping the kung flu, they just use this as a legal way to stop those crazy unvaccinated nazis from ruining their hugbox. other big conventions like TMG and I think PAX also still do this.

Last year, a lot of conferences and conventions finally started back up in the US, and some were requiring either a vax card or a test, at least in liberal shit holes. (The red states were already, whatever.) This year, most conventions aren't requiring anything.

This is first order lunacy, that isn't based on science. Par for the course, for rust. (And isn't it part of their rust, er, rt convention? Like now baked into the rust copyright? If you do an official rust convention, you have to do all that shit?) (I think Null talked about it on MATI.)

The purity spirals continue.
The meltdown on r/rust is a riot.

It's almost like making things "safe", "friendly" and "compassionate" turns your place into a drama breeding ground, but hey, what do I know :story:

It's pretty funny how redditors don't understand anything about the whole situation. Getting invited to do a keynote speech is an honor, but it's also a shit load of work. It's not an exaggeration to say that your keynote sets the tone for the conference, most attendees will see it and pretty much every other speaker will at least be thinking about how it relates to their talk, and JeanHeyd tried to make sure they wanted his specific talk in light of the technical controversy.

Rust core has a chip on their shoulder about C++. Their language is slower in many benchmarks and missing a lot of useful optimizations (like this one), but muh safety.

Why this matters: JeanHeyd Meneide is a young but respected contributor to C++ who has gotten several useful improvements into the language, and was very interested in Rust. I don't think he's an ideologue, but he is very politically savvy.

For completeness, the "JT" character (real name Jonathan Turner) is a non-birthing enbee who flaunts its autism diagnosis on Twitter and came over to Rust from the JavaScript community. I half suspect that he became a "they" in order to fit in with the new club. We'll see what happens now that he's leaving.

I'm interested. What are some of his contributions?

Drew appears to be yet another person starting a useless project, which aim is to replace something, with something that is specifically different and worse. He does it to become Very Important as the lead developer of hare. He says he spent 2 years working on it. He insists on comparing it to C while the syntax, library, and style looks exactly like Rust. It does not even have academic value because it brings nothing new into the world of programming languages.
There are a lot of new languages like this coming up, most of them just lift directly from Jonathan Blow's ideas from his presentation on a new language called Jai, which was presented in 2013 and is still not completed. Nearly all of them are just a collection of solutions to problems no one has ever had, with their own syntax abominations for the sake of being different. My favorites are the languages with type systems so complex that you need a PhD in type theory to even begin to comprehend how they work, they seem to exist solely for intellectual masturbation and rarely for the actual business of creating software.
