She looks like a new Pirates of the Caribbean character. Jack Sparrows sidekick or something like that but not Ariel.

That's just embarrassing. At least they gave her shoes so she doesn't step on some junkie needles.

Did they explain in the movie why she was wearing a ill fitting Dress from a Trinidad slavegirl? Since she was like, with Prince Eric?

I tortured myself and watched the cam rip of the little niglet, bitch can't sing at all even with auto tune it was awful and the CGI is shit. As expected it was just cringe as all hell. Didn't realise that Melissa McCarthy was in it as Ursula and holy fuck she can not act at all. There was like nothing from the neck down a Chat GPT would have been better.

Only good bits where the shots of Caribbean lifestyle and some of the Jamaican music but completely out of context. Guy that did the voice of Sebastian couldn't sing either.

But wasn't that actress Polynesian or something? so I guess she's not diverse enough
She wasn't brown enough like the Lilo and Stitch actress. It's strange to see these people go full on nazi like racial purity but for brown people to ditermind if they are brown enough or not.
Disney released the tracks to the """nEw ANd iMprOvEd""" Little Mermaid soundtrack which includes a completely new song called Scuttlebutt. It's officially an affront to music. Actually it's an affront to the very concept of sound itself. Lin Manuel Miranda and Awkawafina should be cast out of society.
Here's a clip I ripped off twitter, an especially egregious snippet.

I loved the part where the song ended and my ears stopped feeling pain

Im hoping commen sense people soon go to rotten Tomatoes and fix that error. Because no fucking way do that many people like nigger Ariel even people who usually like Disney movies I know of weren't looking forward to this movie. The only people who I saw defending the movie were SJW twitter idiots who make it their love goal to defend all woke shit.

‘The Little Mermaid’: Chinese State Run Media Warns Disney To Stop Pushing Racism Narrative Around Fairy Tales Or They Will Lose Their “Magic Glory”
An article in China’s Global Time, an English-language outlet run by the Communist Party of China, warns The Walt Disney Company to stop pushing a racism narrative around The Little Mermaid and other classic fairy tales or they will end up losing their “magic glory.”

In an article published this week, Global Times specifically called out The Walt Disney Company for pushing “political correctness” with the casting of Halle Bailey as Ariel in The Little Mermaid.
They claim, “Disney’s decision to cast a person of color as the lead in The Little Mermaid seemingly was made to break stereotypes and promote equality, but so far, the negative reactions outweigh the positive ones.”

“This begs the question of whether Disney’s ‘political correctness’ actions are motivated by capital interests or genuine concern for representation,” Global Times wrote.

The outlet went even further by insinuating that The Walt Disney Company is the one creating and spreading the entire racism narrative surrounding the film, “The controversy surrounding Disney’s forced inclusion of minorities in classic films is not about racism, but its lazy and irresponsible storytelling strategy. ”

It then questions, “If the company truly wants to represent marginalized groups, why not create original stories that reflect their experiences instead of turning classic tales into ‘sacrificial lambs’ for political correctness?”

They even warn Disney to stop going down this path, “When the beautiful stories that have accompanied countless children’s childhoods become arenas for racial conflict, they lose their meaning and become devoid of romance and fantasy, replaced by arguments about skin color.”

“If Disney continues following this path, audiences, especially innocent children will no longer care if the ‘prince and princess live happily ever after,’ but ‘what is the skin color of the prince and princess,’ and the fairy tale will lose its magic glory,” the Global Times concluded.

Not only did Global Times warn Disney to stop pursuing this strategy in another article published earlier this week, but they also noted that the controversy that they insinuate is being created by Disney is being used by American leftists to push “political correctness” on Chinese audiences.

The article begins by discussing recently reported poor pre-sales in China for The Little Mermaid. It notes that ticketing site Maoyan reported that the film had only sold $85,000 worth of tickets as of Thursday.

The article alleges that a number of people are using these poor pre-sales to target Chinese moviegoers and accuse them of “racial discrimination.”

Not only does it claim they are using the poor pre-sales to make accusations of “racial discrimination,” but it also claims the accusation is done “to impose their politically correct standards on Chinese audiences, and use this to sow discord between China and African groups.”

From there it also points to a poster for The Little Mermaid depicting actress Halle Bailey with blue skin while a U.S. poster shows her with her natural skin color.

It specifically claims that numerous commentators are using the posters to “hint that Chinese audiences are ‘racist.'” It also asserts that The Walt Disney Company released a Chinese version of the U.S. poster.

The article goes on to declare, “The vast majority of Chinese audiences do not have any bias against a black Little Mermaid and would rather evaluate the film based on its own merits.”

It then specifically takes aim at American leftists saying they “are imposing their own politically correct values on Chinese audiences, expecting them to embrace the film the same way as Western audiences have. This expectation is unreasonable since Chinese don’t have such political correctness, as the country’s modern history is more about being invaded by Westerners rather than colonizing or oppressing black people.”

“Instead, China has always maintained brotherly relations with Africa and has never needed an ‘atonement’ mentality prevalent in Hollywood,” the Global Times article says.

After discussing China’s relations with African countries it concludes by making another accusation, “Western ‘white leftist’ netizens using their political correctness to kidnap Chinese audiences is naked cultural hegemony.”

The article finishes, “Some people simply don’t have a clue how to reflect on themselves but only stand on a so-called moral high ground to criticize others. Colonizing a group of people on Earth and then yelling at another group for not sharing its own guilty conscience – how convenient to always be the right one!”

Global Times had previously published an article in 2019 discussing Bailey’s casting as Ariel and asserted that “Chinese audiences aren’t buying into the casting decision.”

They added, “Although some Chinese netizens think Bailey is beautiful and sweet, they generally hold the opinion that the casting choice is a disruption of the character who originally appeared as a white princess with red hair in the Disney cartoon.”

It would be hilarious if the CCP somehow pulled the Shanghai and Hong Kong parks from Disney, as I think the government is the majority-owner of both parks. (Certainly Shanghai, can't remember for sure on HK.)

Another reasons why you shouldn't make a movie for chimps. It's a waste of time & money. Theatres will be ruined, someone is probably going to die & the movie will bomb.
Remember how everyone was saying the Joker movie would be the one to cause fights and ruin the movie theater experience?

Now between Frozen 2 and this one, Disney has caused more tension and fights from their movies than anything "far/alt right" related piece of media

So I was going to do a rundown of how utterly fucked Disney is currently but it will be a somewhat long post but I will make it as concise as possible.

  1. So in January 2024 Disney has to LEGALLY pay 33% of the value for Hulu to acquire it. Disney has to legally do this absolutely but Iger fucked up on the Q2 call and said Hulu share they need to pay is about 10 billion which he said btw. This would mean Hulu is worth 30 billion as they need to pay 1/3 of its value. That is grossly incorrect and as 2019 Hulu was valued at 70 billion at least and they are pressing in to revaluate further meaning Disney has to pay at leave 23.3 billion is it is worth 75 then 25 billion. However Comcast are investigating that Disney are purposely attempting to devalue Hulu to pay less which is most likely the case. Comcast will then challenge it.
  2. Some investors are suing Disney for falsifying accounts and value of Disney Plus and even though this is a common occurrence, this one holds a lot of weight. I have looked at it myself and there is some shady af tactics with D+ and just outright lies. Such as programs being deemed exclusive and airing 2 days prior on ABC and the budget being shifted to the ABC accounts and not the D+ accounts. This would of course devalue the product but also it could deem that investor money has been falsely reported and spent.
  3. Parks already this year are having a decline in attendance but we don't know the figures yet but locals who attend including some I personally know attesting that places like Magic Kingdom are "empty". This is really bad as the parks have always been the revenue stream.
  4. Disney is over 100 billion in debt and it has no sign of stopping.
  5. The Florida case is looking to start next year and a few months after the Hulu buy if it proceeds with no issues.
  6. the biggest issue currently is Disney's shocking operational costs, Disney at the moment has the moment has the annual operating costs of 80 billion and rising as it was up 12.5% from last year. Their monthly costs are about 6.66 billion amazing I know lol but they only get 200,000,000 profit monthly and resorts like Galactic Star crusier they are trying to shore up as tax write offs. Disney only has 10 billion in it's coffers which is a problem since they said they'd pay for Hulu in cash. If not they will have to give shares away totalling to value and that could be up to 30% of those shares.
This on top of the lunacy decision making currently of which they have run all their IPs into the ground. Star Wars since Disney bought it for 4 billion is now worth less than a billion. Disney technically has not had a profitable film for a while now, years in fact Frozen 2 was their last successful film. Films like Black Panther 2 barely broke even and Little Mermaid is expected to only made 400-500 million globally. Now take off 2/3s of that and that is what Disney actually made. The little Mermaid including advertising probably cost at least 450 million to 500 million. The problem is it devalues the brand and affects share price too.

With Elemental, Dial of Destiny, The Marvels and the writing strike happening. None of these films are even going to break even but offer no revenue line for the company either.

It's a shame because I've seen documentaries on Walt Disney himself and he seemed like a good hardworking man. Most billionaires today are just lazy scumbags.
off the top of my head the easiest confirmed skeevy thing he was up to was making all the secondary companies to run extra money through the family for day-to-day crap at the parks, like WED Enterprises and stuff
the nazi stuff is probably bullshit given he worked with (((The Sherman Brothers))) for basically every fucking song

I'm hoping this is the straw that break's Iger's back, but in reality, with accountants already involved, it's probably going to go to litigation, or at least mediation.

The other wildcard is, supposedly, Iger was supposed to set up his successor (as part of his return). We all saw how well that worked with Chapek.
