I see that the usual corners of faggotry on Twitter are all immediately chiming up about Pride Month and all of the nauseating cultish love-bombing that goes with it. Too bad, I'm a gay man who's grown deeply cynical of it all and will refuse to partake or participate wherever I can for yet another June.

At least Raytheon has not rainbow-fied their logo this time around. Happy Roadkill had it right the first time it happened.

They really did Aloy wrong, ngl. I rather liked the first game but they just. could. not. help. themselves. They had to deny her all potential romantic involvement. The entire story is fucking schizophrenic as a consequence of the woke tards in corporate mandating shit onto the writing team that were supremely based.

The world of Zero Dawn was a world done in by silicon valley tech bro's who thought they were way smarter then they actually were and had to be saved by Stronk Woman who loved the science. Already pretty schizophrenic, but okay, i'll allow it because because fuck silicon valley. But wait! Stronk woman who loved the science is full of regret. She never had a child of her own because she was consumed by her work. And now that the apocalypse was on hand, her only "child" would be the AI governing Earths rebirth in a new age. In an act of admiration, that AI decides to create her own "mothers" child, giving to Strong Woman who loved the science the daughter she never had!

Checkmate corporate! Us writers got around your bullshit! Oh and just so you know, Strong Woman who loved the Science' daughter is going to be raised by a based trad man who will be a good father figure. No, we can't change that, sorry. So what does corporate do? "Those are some nice love interests Aloy has. The Nora Warrior boy. The Sun King. that gruff and tormented tech bro. Yeah, get rid of those story lines. No love interests. Don't want to rob her of her agency!"

End result? A story that at a fundamental is about how arrogant people ruin the world for future generations. About how the good guys fight tirelessly for the future, in the form of children born and yet unborn. from the desperate soldiers of the United States who fought the Faro Plague in the 21'st century, to the scientists who built project zero dawn, to Aloy herself. Yet fucking Guerilla Games was too woken to give Aloy kids of her own. The one thing that would have been the capstone of her story arc as the divine Mother figure. Absolutely abysmal. 10/10 gaming execution, 0/10 story conclusion.

Fuck Guerilla. Seriously. Try squaring that bullshit tweet with the final cinematic of Zero Dawn. A marred masterpiece. Like soup on the Mona Lisa.

Personally I felt the no love for Aloy was fine. She was driven, intense, and saving the world. But then the DLC goes and shits that up, not even the main story, not someone she's known throughout both games but some rando chick who comes out of nowhere.

So, yes, it's all schizo.

You can see how the demands of the woke clashed with the demands of the story at every turn in the game. Aloy's driven nature is actually a major character flaw and you see it being pointed out repeatedly. If she was actually to achieve her potential she needed to learn and stop and smell the roses. What's the point of saving the world if you end up like that crazy Karja dude who has fought so much his only wish is to finally find death at the hands of someone who can actually kill him.

Yeah, i've spent alot of time thinking about the story of Zero Dawn because it just so perfectly encapsulates the corruption in modern art and how actual artists try and circumvent the dictates of it. You can see in alot of the side quests and story beats how the writers of Zero Dawn attempted to subvert the demands of their corporate overlords to create a woke power fantasy where a woman from a matriarchal and diverse tribe dunks on robot dinosaurs and patriarchal tribes.

There are parts that really kick you in the feels. Like in "All Mother" where you relive the lives of children having to be raised by robots. Looking at abandoned play rooms and unused schools. Or when you find the recordings of the US Army, as they fight their losing war against the Faro Plague. The writers were trying to get at something, but it always got yanked back with the major plot progression points that were clearly mandated by corporate. As an example, the conversation where Aloy told the Sun King Avad she was not interested in romance was so fucking stilted and pro forma, it was like it was an entirely different character all together.

Seeing Aloy flying a pride progress flag and Guerilla saying being a childless lesbian is her "authentic self" really makes me Mad on The Internet. Out there tonight, a bunch of writers are looking at that tweet and are living the lives of the protagonist in "I have no mouth and I must scream".

So funny thing happened a few hours ago. I logged into fallout 76 for a little while to do a couple dailies and had to free up some storage space for new stuff. So I built a quick camp to sell some old weapons and about 20 nuclear launch keys. Note that this was right outside flatwoods with a few other people doing the same thing nearby. All of which had various pride colored shit going on in theirs. Some idiot wanders past my camp while i'm messing around with the shop interface and starts asking on mic why I don't have the camp set up in pride colored wallpaper and items and such. You know, to show my support and absolutely wigged out for a good 2 or 3 minutes when I ignored his question, then added a 'and why don't you have your player icon set to the pride flag?! thats why they gave them out to everyone!' then calls some idiot friend of his over to my camp to try to destroy it for ignoring his questions and not supporting pride month. Ended up having to block them and change instances but holy shit that was nuts

So much for sinseer being alone in his fallout 76 idiocy. If there are many more incidents like that i'm going to start wondering if that game needs its own community thread

Yes, there is a choice which impacts the nest scene. But the devs have said that lesbian Aloy is the canonical story going forward. I can't find the Tweet or wherever but the developer did confirm it.

Gaia fucked up then if she was born that way. Someone send a software update to that god damn computer. Its job was to restore life, not end it. Its amazing to me how the owners of the IP are so blissfully unaware of how their own position puts them firmly in the camp of the primary antagonist of the game that wants to destroy all life.
