Of course, Gamergate having happened ages ago doesn't stop various retards who were on either side wanting a rematch. I often see retards predict "Gamergate 2.0" either as dire warnings or calls to action.
More idiotic are attempts to trace phenomena in present day politics back to Gamergate. Anyone who thinks Europeans protesting against weapons shipments to Ukraine (One example I remember) were "involved in GG in some way" should go back to playing Call of Duty.

From what I remember, Kotaku and related publications were sold off to Univision following the Thiel-Hogan affair, excluding Gawker which was left to rot.
And apparently, some nutjob tried to revive Gawker back in 2021. It only lasted until this February

Aside from subs, this month's losses have been pretty minimal and Jim's views even went back up quite significantly (although still a far cry from the glory days of his channel, and his new uploads continue to languish around the 150k mark, if even.) One funny thing I did stumble across was that since the start of this year Jim's channel views have either drawn equal with or been bested by those of Steve Shives.

The thing I do not get if he makes no money from Youtube and all of it comes from patron what damages can he claim? I am not a law expert but if there were damages out of his control than yeah , but he just pan to a different part of the picture or censor the junk.

I give TB a pass on many things because for all his enormous britbong faggotry, he still provided a useful service and interesting content and up until he died he didn't compromise his position on consumer advocacy. Jimbo by comparison produces nothing of worth, is an extremely repetitive hack who flips on every position to please the twitter horde, dove head-first into woke bullshit in order to feed his degeneracy, and now uses it as a shield against any criticism.
Yes, Totalbiscuit was a major asshole and it's likely he'd be saying TWAW had he lived to this day. But if given the choice to go back in time and give Jim Fucking Sterling ass cancer instead, I would do it in a heartbeat. Because a single 10-minute "WTF Is...?" video on Gollum would have been ten times more entertaining than anything Jim Sterling has put out in the past two years.

I don't know. I wouldn't see TB trooning out, and watching Jim prance around on stage making a mockery of wrestling, women, and gaming in general has provided me with more than enough laughter to keep me alive for an extra 10 years. If TB were alive today, I doubt he would have went down such an interesting route.
As for why I'm more dismissive of Jim it's because I can't stand traitors and turn coats. There's a reason why the lowest pit of hell is reserved for them after all. Jim was always a leftist, even back in the non-shitty Inquistion days, so him trooning out was always in the cards and a tiger can't change it's stripes. However TB was only starting to show the leftist cancer inside of him, it was a mercy that the ass cancer got to him first.

TB actually got stuff done. The guy saved me an admittedly small sum of money with "The Framerate Police", a steam curator list that would appear on lots of niche games informing gamers like me that a game was locked at 30 FPS. While it feels like PC Gaming ports are regressing once again things are so much better now. I don't want to act like he really changed the world but I feel TB served as a conduit that went onto making gaming a far more pleasant affair. It wasn't too long ago that if you bought a game on PSN/Xbox/Steam and that game fucking sucked for whatever reason you were outta luck. Now all three offer the ability to give no questions asked digital refunds, Nintendo being the happily lazily giant.
And wouldn't that be a great topic for Jimbo to harp on? Make a video about how shitty that is that Nintendo to this day doesn't offer refunds. Make a whole rant about how shitty shovelware like "Popeye" and all that garbage Jim made a career off shitting on should be refundable. A German court ordered Nintendo to do this and Nintendo continues to fuck over their audience a large portion of which is children. Even Blizzard's Battle.net gives refunds which I used immediately after seeing that Warcraft 3 Reforged was one of the shittiest things ever done to a great game. Don't get me wrong I do not think Jim Sterling even in his prime years could have ever done anything to make a giant corporation like Nintendo enact a policy change that practically every other big service has done. But it would make a good Youtube rant that would get the attention of gamers. If you're a Gaming Youtuber who needs content feel free to take this idea because Jim is too stupid despite it being a topic that would get him views.

On top of this - Youtube doesn't owe him anything. They have guidelines but they are under 0 obligation to host any of his videos and can remove whatever they want, whenever they want, for any reason.
He isn't paying YT for hosting, they aren't business partners, he doesn't have any kind of outline or contract with them, he has literally nothing. Although he hangs a business off of it doesn't mean he suddenly gets extra rights. He makes enough where he could reasonably host his content elsewhere, or even do it himself.
There's really no grounds for a lawsuit - Youtube is in charge. They can do anything they want and have ceded no legal ground to Jim or anyone, ever.

Totalbiscuit always leaned left. His whole consumer advocacy thing has always been a left-wing talking point, until it was buried by the Left being bought out by corporations waving pride flags. What he did was keep unrelated politics out of his work, because he tried to present a more professional attitude by sticking to the subject at hand. Him being considered a filthy Gamergater by some is simply because he had enough principles to see through the bullshit and actually call out some of the bad actors at the time.
I have no idea where this notion that TB positioned himself as some kind of paragon of the Right came from, and that his spergout about the trap joke was some kind of betrayal. It was unexpected in the sense that it was way too harsh, but the guy was a Brit, married to a "voice actress" who already had a kid when they met. The odds of him being right-wing or in any way "trad" were close to nil.

He has no fucking chance in litigation.
Whether he makes money from ads or not is neither here nor there, as YouTube is under no obligation to run ads on his channel (or even host his content, as someone mentioned).
An attempt at a tortious interference with contract suit is probably his best hope (the contract being that between him and his patreon paypigs wherein he puts videos on YouTube if he gets paid). This would also be full of holes, namely the contract being invalid as YouTube did not knowingly enter into it, AND mens rea being impossible to prove in this case (for tortious interference to be present the interfering party must have acted with actual malice), AND interference not even being present (the video was still there, just age-gated for a while).
Note that this would be the best he can do, unless he wants to challenge age-restriction in principle under the First Amendment or thinks that he can somehow force the case to be tried under some plaintiff-friendly British law I don't know about (lol).
No lawyer would want this guy and his attendant bullshit (Members of the Bar do not take payment in Boglins or wrestling paraphernalia. They prefer money. Lots of it.)

Although Jim keeps complaining about the Algorithm disfavouring his videos, what he fails to understand is that the Algorithm's tendencies result from the data of the collective Youtube audience.
If the Algorithm is disfavouring his video, that's because people aren't clicking on them, and those that do aren't commenting, liking, or disliking them. He generates no engagement. He is boring.
Although I do agree with him that tranny status plays a part in this, just from my personal experiences and observations, people don't like and don't engage with tranny material; only other trannies or "allies" do so.
Although the "Silent Majority" is often the cope of losers, as we have seen in real life with Budweiser, it's very real. What's worse is that people don't even hate them, else you would see more dislikes and tranny hate. People are just disgusted by them, so they don't engage in any tranny content at all.

I'll admit it could be the nostalgia goggles, but I always liked him better just because he had some interesting things to say. Plus Co-Optional Podcast was superior to Podquisition due to only having Dale on a couple of times compared to basically running the show.
Also, I got the feeling TB actually liked being in video games. Jim, especially early on, only wanted to play some games some times, and not all the way through, and always resented the fact that he was required to put work in. And after he left Escapist, he did his best to try and pivot to a wrestling career and away from gaming. I'm pretty sure the only reason Sterling still pretends to be a video game commentator is because it's the only reason people still give him money.

I disagree with that bit.
There are trannies that do very well in the YT space and are likely pushed to the front by YT's algorithm. SphereHunter comes to mind - the most generic Capcom shill that left porn not that long ago and now is skyrocketing in views, subs, and so on after coming from basically nowhere.
Jim is struggling because YT can recommend videos, but cannot force people to watch them.

For my part I haven't been recommended any Jim's video or SphereHunter's for that matter, and I used to be a fairly prolific viewer of his video before I unsubbed.
Maybe the content I watch just has too little overlap with trannies, although I did used to watch Leadhead before he trooned out.
