Agreed, though the Sophie Long case is not really news to me. It's actually one of the ways Elissa has demonstrated the capacity to stick to her guns on issues that matter to her.

To draw a parallel to my initial point, Null has had his share of hardship for quite some time as well, and that didn't stop Nick from fumbling his "support" after Nick's thread on KF became a liability.

Nick will support whatever helps his image, mostly in the form of lip-service. He will help those who help him by cross-promoting himself in the process with whatever cause is convenient (like most internet celebrities) to gain social currency with his audience and other content creators. Seems clever at first, but the cost is not having sincere social connections to these people.

Then there is Nick's awkward naïvety in his areas of interest that indicate that he apes more than he understands. His laughable pursuit of status symbols, selective interpretation of sexual relationships, and general lack of self-awareness appears to come from a place of limited observation without introspection. This can be seen in Nick's approach to his "mid-life crisis" and why he cannot remain satisfied in his ventures.

All this to say that Nick is insincere by nature and cannot distinguish between his own self-interests and his best-interests, possibly due to lack of a sincere moral framework and desire for immediate gratification culminating in Nick being a lazy grifter. For example, KF, Elissa, and Null tried to act in Nick's best-interest by telling him not to be so self-indulgent in certain areas, trying to hold him accountable, or warning him about his trajectory but Nick's self-interest won out.

This is a trend that is likely to continue because Nick is a conceited idiot who should only be trusted to act according to his own self-interest. Nick is a cross-promoter at best, and lacks qualities of a true friend. Concerned parties should act accordingly.
