I think what's interesting is to imagine a hypothetical based on my current understanding of The U.K:

Imagine if this occurred in Northern Ireland and Caroline was a Unionist Protestant and this occurred. Would the police try this type of overreach in a society where tribal violence is still simmering and community leaders are religious?

I might be wrong, but I'd imagine there's always that fear that either side could go back to armed 4th generation warfare if pushed too far. I'd also imagine it's hard to be a woke copper trying to push DEI stuff when there's sectarian segregation and peace barriers.
