One Piece - I'm Gonna Be the Pirate King!

I am not sure what exactly happened to Sabo. It's hard to read... did the force of that attack send him flying? Did Cobra throw him despite that not being logical? I can't make sense of how he escaped.

Kalifa got hit with a case of same-face syndrome though; she doesn't have the angular face she did when Oda was drawing Water 7-Enies Lobby/CP9 cover story.

It's subtle but unique enough that it should've survived Oda's art style evolving throughout the years, IMO.
Also I read a theory that the reason that the rest of CP9 (anyone note Lucci, Kaku, or Spandam) showed up was a side-effect of the Film Red people wanting a few of them for a cameo.

Sabo had Cobra over his shoulder and was running like hell away from the monsters. The attack pierced him and Cobra. Sabo hit the floor and rolled away from Cobra, who got to his feet and stood against the government spooks and delivered his message. While they executed D. Man, Sabo bolted, and the spook-monsters were distracted by the peep-hole that Wapol saw most of errything through.

Which in hindsight, everyone could've seen coming, because the last text he spoke in the Reverie before the shift to Wano was "It's impossible to run a squeaky-clean country! The higher you get in the world, the dirtier the business becomes!

Shit is getting spicy. Seems like half of the world goverment bigwigs are zoans, but I imagine it will be super mega divine iterations.

Wapol pulling a Buggy is something I didn't expect yet it works well, because this has the potential to snowball in a way Buggy will reap the benefit and get even more undeserved fame.

I also love the reaction of Sai and Leo. True nakama.
 
break after next week

One Piece will be on a 4 week hiatus after next chapter (WSJ 28, hiatus will be 29-32) because Oda is getting surgery to deal with his astigmatism. This apparently has been in discussion since 2022, so we'll see if Oda's eyesight gets better or not.
Maybe we'll see certain chapters/panels redrawn when the volumes come out for this arc?

Interesting that in a chapter when we get details on the 5 planets we get he who judges the Celestial Dragons with a hairstyle like a crescent moon.

Also that comment of his can be read as targeted at the departed or himself as easily.

Oh and a few other things too I guess. The most important of which is Imu's den-den mushi has the same ludicrously high crown as them.
 
At least Oda didn't leave us completely Blue Balled with a cliffhanger before a Month long break.

Imu being the subject of the Ope Ope Fruit's Immortality Ability was basically a given I am not surprised at all, and the Backstory of what is going on here makes complete sense, you have an Immortal Tyrant hiding behind the curtain as ruler of the world with an Empty Throne distracting the Various rulers around the world into thinking that their Titles mean anything aside from being complete Middle Management.

Where things get Incredibly interesting

We have a set of Major powers in the world, that aren't the world Government.

Blackbeard
Red Hats
Straw Hats
Cross Guild
Revolutionaries

Most of them now have a way to find out that Imu Exists, or already exist. We know that Laugh Tale contains the history of the world Per Oden's comments, and it is incredibly likely that Gol let slip that secret to some people. Whitebeard most certainly was in on the secret, his dying words were outright that One Piece exists I doubt he would have done it in that manner if he didn't know the secret and that it was connected to those with D. in the name, which is why Whitebeard wanted Ace to succeed him, so we can assume that Shanks knows at least part of it.

Revolutionaries are getting Imu Confirmation from Sabo.

I am fairy certain that Blackbeard knows enough of the secret history to cheat his way to Laugh Tale, Unless Shiryu is Clear Clear Fruiting his way to all the Red Poneglyphs (without slicing anyone up which is what I would find to be Bullshit. Him getting in and out is believable, him doing it without turning Zou into a Wet Market I wouldn't fucking buy)

That leaves the Straw Hats..who are supposed to be on their way to Ohara Library V2, I can't imagine between Robin and Vegapunk they won't Find SOMETHING out.

That leaves the Cross Guild...which might be a really good place for a Certain King who foun[d out about Imu to end up. (bonus Points if Vivi goes there...and we finds out she has Armament Haki and kicks Crocodile around a bit....she is a D..who the fuck thought VIVI WAS A D)/ISPOILER]

So wait, if I read things right, the dude with the crescent hair sentencing Mjosgard to death (rest in power) was the former king of God Valley? So that would mean God Valley was like a summer home/trade-route to Celestial Dragons which would explain why they were there during the incident. But the island vanished after the battle, so did Imu do it after bringing the Dragons back to Mary Geoise?

Five weeks to digest this chapter and we'll get that done by the weekend. Least Oda will return with better eyesight, but still, five weeks is rough. The last long break after Wano wasn't even that long.

How did he do it, after all in the context of the chapter, Him Yeeting Islands is a recent development because the Island Sabo was not on was a test run.

Most likely it's something that would attract too much attention. Imu could do it at the time because they were also erasing an entire section of history, sort of how governments sneak through incredibly dodgy laws during a busy news cycle.
