I tried to make it slightly more bee-like while also keeping it cute and feminine (because cheerleaders), and I didn't have the heart to overhaul its color scheme, but it got kind of hard to emphasize the cheering without really human poses and that eventually lead to a pretty human-like structure

I think the fact that it's going for more of a human-hybrid thing IS the problem. Wool bees exist IRL (they're called carder bees) , but it doesn't really work as a cheerleader motif.

Pokemon has a cheerleader pokemon in the form of a bird (Oricorio), and as stupid as that design is, it makes sense because it's based off of an actual bird in Hawaii that not only has a bajillion different versions of it, but also attaches itself to flowers, and adapts itself to the environment. At least GameFreak planned that design through somewhat. Regarding this pink bee thing, it's as if the developers/designers took the opposite direction and went "I want a cheerleader monster" so they slapped a bee onto it and decided not to make any sense of it, especially since, as you've stated, it looks NOTHING like a bee. In fact it looks like a bootleg of Ribombee... in fact now that I say that, that's exactly what this is. They just combined Pom-Pom Oricorio with Ribombee and called it a day.

if they wanted to do a wool bee, they could have instead done something like combine it with a sheep or something. Stachys byzantina, a plant that carder bees like to frequent, are called Lambs Ears, so there's your connection.

I'm not gonna complain about le heckin' reddit wholesome games, I don't care about them, I wasn't gonna watch the showcase. But what I'm going to complain about, however, is the fact that most other indies showcased during the Day of the Devs and Future of Play would be at home at the Wholesome games. Where's all the action? Where are the shooters? I watched Realms Deep last year, so I know that there're plenty of indie shooters, did they deliberately refuse to show them?
Fortunately, Future Games Show is looking a bit more promising.

The industry is trying its best to ignore the boomer shooter revival because they don't make billions of dollars. I'm still pissed that Bungie revived Marathon only to make it an extraction shooter instead of a boomer shooter

now there's a new trend of "non-violent" games with 0 pushback or challenge that cater to an infantilized demographic of emotionally-stunted children who can't handle being called a three-letter word by a normal human being, so the gamers have to move over and make way for the "new generation"
that, or I'm still extremely salty that these fucks diluted the term "RPG" into "anything with a leveling system" and killed off almost every subset of the genre that wasn't JRPG/very basic turn-based shit so I'm taking it out on their new target

Cuphead was traditionally animated on paper. This looks like tweened garbage.

Shockingly, yes. They also proclaim that buying those games makes them gamers and that they're worth listening to on opinions for FPSes and other more hardcore genres because they played an hour of Stardew Valley once.
The obvious problem is that SJWs are an extremely loud minority in a sea of other people who aren't like them and enjoy different types of games, so when you start catering to them and excluding the hardcores you not only get less sales but far less brand loyalty and a much worse reputation.
(Unless you're an indie company who exclusively caters to them like Wish inc. does. Then that's just your target audience and nothing has really changed.)

I've said my piece on why UE5 kinda sucks on the previous page. I have more to sneed about it but expect the games using it to be blurry and have insane vram requirements. Not sure how interested people actually are in hearing my complaints about it though so I won't write them here.

I'm pretty sure people would be interested in why you're unhappy with UE5, especially seeing as (as you said) you've already given some complaints and people haven't trashed you for it. Go for it if you want
