Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

This is why I think most fuckcars people end up bikelovers; it is the only method of transportation that does not involve a 'vehicle' (which is stupid, a bike is person-powered vehicle) that doesn't require a massive transit setup. They know transit sucks for various reasons and they want car-like freedom, which the bike can give, but only if the city is made dense enough to have everything they want.
This. They want some sort of alternative that gives them freedom without it being cars, but it's not possible because even the least practical car is still more practical than any cargo bike only by the virtue that it is more stable at high speeds and doesn't struggle going up hill no matter how you load it, unlike bikes where you feel every pound you add.

Even for cars as impractical as the Miata and 350z you can still find ways to store and carry more stuff than a cargo bike for longer distances

As said before if you hit a pot hole you don't have to shit your pants worrying that you're going to fall over. It makes them seethe that even the worst car is still better than the most expensive cargo bike.

All fun and games until you realize:
1. a lot of that rail isnt profitable, since they used up a lot of the profitable routes early BUT KEPT EXPANDING IT
2. Related to above: it generated a ton of debt
3. The only reason why anyone would agree to that is state control
4. the chinese population is hyper-concentrated in the east coast. The western half of the country is basically empty.
there's this line which divides china into 2 aprox. equal parts in terms of land area. The west half has under 10% of the population.

In fact, even if you just talk about the half with 90+% of the population, much of that population is concentrated into a few big cities, many of which are concentrated, on the east coast.

5. air travel in china is fucked. Because 70% of chinese airspace is off limits to commercial flights, whatever little isnt tends to get very congested. Flights get cancelled, etc

EDIT: @quaawaa whoops, didnt see your post before replying. Still, thanks for backing points 1 and 2 up.
It's not just half of China is this ultra-rural, desolate wasteland that makes the Midwest cosmopolitan in comparison, their electrical grid is incomplete with no redundancies.

Don't worry, they'll be back within a week. This "blackout" is ineffective and will accomplish absolutely nothing.

And nothing of value was lost. Don't worry Jason, we archived the juicy stuff :)
Like how much you hate Road Guy Rob. Did you think we'd forget?

I love how he bemoans the supposed "loser trolls" and "terminally ignorant Americans" on Reddit, the site that's friendliest to him and his bullshit. Gives me the same vibes as Hector Martin complaining about Hacker News.

As if I didn't already have a million reasons to stay the fuck away from urbanists and bugmen. If I wanted to live in a walkable city, the last thing I need is trannies shitting up the place and being unpleasant creatures. The thin veneer of urbanism not being left-leaning has faded a long time ago and it was already very thin.

Wow. I never considered this. You can almost see the heihe-tengchong line in the power grid.

Actually come to think of it, let's do that:
1686556693959.png

Same with the rail system in the OP:
1686556493488.png

it's almost like the 2 huge rail lines outside the line lead directly to urumqi (according to wikipedia the 23rd biggest city) and the indian border

What I'm saying is that between the relatively small geographic area where people actually live and the fucking of air travel, it's no wonder that china developed its rail system

Holy shit, he literally praised the efforts of the jannies. He actually unironically praised reddit's moderation. I can't stop laughing. Right on Jason, I say we triple their salaries!

And Jesus Christ, just when I thought I couldn't get more tired of the "touch grass" meme. Trust me Jason, the troglodytes inhabiting reddit are perfectly fine just where they are, nestled in their big boy chairs and lost in a haze of vape clouds, cheap consoomer shit and their own stink. You'd be surprised how many places "no closer than 500 feet from a school" rules out, you know. Do you really wanna be responsible for unleashing this unto the general public?

He also blames people for using "bikes optimized for speed" at the cost of utility for feeling like the temperature is an issue.
What the fuck are people supposed to do? Just use some bullshit fixed gear beach cruiser type bike? Also, a fast bike means getting the hell out of the hot environment faster. And that's just comparing bicycles.

I can drive to work in 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Looking at google maps since they have a bicycle option(which is apparently 10mph), it would take me over an HOUR just to get to work. And then of course over an hour to get home from work, after being tired from working all day, having been a gross sweaty mess from having to work all day after cycling to work.

If I had a commute via car that was around 30-40 minutes, google maps puts that at TWO FUCKING HOURS riding a damn bike. 4 hours out of my day, traveling the same distance plenty of other people do normally without issue in a car. Hilariously the public transit isn't any better in terms of travel time, still requiring 2 busses and a light rail system, during which I'd be stuck sitting with random ass hobos and god knows who else, on uncomfortable seats(or standing) the entire time.

Do these people just not have lives at all? Even if the local city shopping was within a few minutes walk, not everyone is going to be working there. What if you need to go to a store other than some shitty bodega, convenience store, or big pharmacy type place(like a CVS)?

And then the fucking cargo bike circle jerk these people do... Yeah, just going to store a big ass bicycle with a trailer in a downtown apartment... and park it outside a business with a bike lock that someone will get through in 2-5 seconds. Oh, and need multiple bicycles because you need a road bike to get anywhere quicker, a cargo bike to actually haul basic shit like a week's worth of groceries, and still need to rent a damn car or uber/whatever to do anything the hell else.

I know I'm late to this thread, but I had seen this shit pop up on youtube and hadn't realized how insane they actually were until I saw this comment about them bitching about "bikes optmized for speed" as if everyone has the luxury of lack of a life to only need to leave their tiny apartment to visit the bodega across the street before they go back home to make a youtube video or whine on reddit about how evil cars are.

You would think these chronically retarded faggots who don't own a home and constantly move from rented apartment to rented apartment would understand the value of a truck ferrying their consoomer shit every year but they don't. They're either rich out of touch euroboos like Jason who who are wealthy enough and have always worked from home never commuting any further than his living room, who never actually use public transportation they constantly jerk off and can pay to bypass the inconveniences of not having a car. Or they're poor autistic un socialized retards who blame cars and commuting for their lack of friends, social skills, and all their other problems (a very troony mindset, only one more bike lane only one more surgery and I will be normal and or get the respect I deserve).

These people like the rest of the online leftists are are just mean spirited control freaks who just want to be able to punish and hurt people from the safe aprroved current position which is why there's the overlap.

We won, fellow carbrains!

My gosh, we've won until they come back next week! Our thread has officially outlasted theirs! Every single post of embarrassment, cope, and insanity, archived. And now they're gonna be heading to DISCORD. Oh boy.

Man, I hate this proprietary website that's taking advantage of user content and moderation for its own corporate profits. Let's show the capitalists what-for and go to Discord instead.

It's even more hilarious because everyone on Discord right now is melting down over their retarded username system shift and removing discriminators. And going even more downhill because apparently they hired a bunch of ex-managers from Facebook.

Meanwhile us oh so bad carbrains are posting on a site whose owner respects our content and won't pull random faggotry like this. We do get ddosed by insane trannies calling up the wives of providers CEOs at 3 in the morning but at least our site is actually usable and doesn't need to protest.

Back when I had a Miata, the joke among the community was that if you need more space to haul stuff, just drop the top. Seems like the fuckcars people would love the Miata but at the same time hate it cause it's meant for driving purity and pleasure, the highest essence of what fuckcars detests.

I'm reading this thread and I'm reminded of jwz's excellent bike advice post. Jwz is a terrible libtard and generally cringy but it's good advice.

I like bikes and I like walkable cities. It doesn't work for everyone or in all situations. You can either learn to accept that or you can tard out. Redditors of course decide to tard out.

I wish I could agree, but Josh's adamant refusal to return to clearnet feels very similar to the Reddit Tantrum in my opinion.

I've read every Telegram post, and the fact that he says "Tor is to prove a point" sounds more like a stubborn refusal to try returning to clear than simply being unable to.
It's certainly at least a temporary measure for that purpose but it's not solely for that reason and he's up to other things.

Like people need to learn how to use tor, for one.

I don't know why he's closing his Reddit board, as the "cagetrolls" get downvoted, he can delete his own post when he gets owned, and he's got hundreds of people stroking his dick. Sure, there's also this board, and others, but that has nothing to do with Reddit specifically.

I wonder what the real reason is.
