Gawker Media - Feat. Kotaku, Jezebel, and Friends

It's nice to see Hulk Hogans Dick succeed where countless others failed.
"We just saw a billionaire kill off a media outlet just because he didn't like them"

"Just because he didn't like them"

Way to whitewash the issue while simultaneously making Gawker look like the blameless victim. Gawker leaked Hogan's sex tape; he asked them to take it down numerous times before finally threatening to take legal action, eventually getting a judge to file a cease-and-desist; Gawker actually wrote an article gloating about how they wouldn't take the video down; Hogan finally took the case to court where Gawker got roasted.

All of Gawker's white knights keep trying to portray this as a First Amendment issue, but this entire thing would have never happened if Gawker had simply taken the video down. They chose an incredibly stupid hill to die on. It was never a freedom of the press issue, because no one besides brainless gossip rag readers cares if you're allowed to publish celebrity sex tapes.
And unsurprisingly, when it was about the leaked nudes of (female) celebrities during the days of the Fappening, these same clowns held a completely opposite opinion. Weird, huh?

GWS FAGGOTS

Kotaku is the worst of the lot.

Kotaku has done some awful stuff, but their lows don't reach Gawker levels. At least they never outed gay people, aided a blackmailing escort, or aired uncensored sex tapes without the target's consent.

Kotaku's biggest crimes were lazy articles about video-game cakes, accusing the Cards Against Humanity guy of rape, not disclosing when their writers were sleeping with the indie devs they were promoting, their handling of Gamergate, and employing Patricia Hernandez.

Oh, and Brian Ashcraft's daily "I'm still living in Japan guys!" articles, but that was more 2012-era of Kotaku garbage.

Kotaku never seemed offensive to me. Just came across like a bunch of 17 year olds writing about their video game experience on their LiveJournal or Tumblr. It was just boring.

That was before it went to total shit in the period leading up to goobergrape. Jezebel did the same thing. Previously it was a snarky but more or less mainstream feminist site, but then it went full man-hating crazed EssJayDubya. It was sort of like Cracked in that it degenerated gradually, so that it was easy to miss what was going on until one day it just smacked you in the face so hard you could no longer ignore it that these people had gone fucking insane as a media culture.

I'd buy Kotaku just for the pleasure and satisfaction of firing all these shitty clickbait bloggers.
But then again, I could also take that money and spend it on dog turds, would be pretty much the same thing, really.

Denton pays them peanuts anyway, they'd probably make more collecting unemployment. You'd be doing them a favor.
