Speaking of Disney's financials, theirs's a new talking point for people who make their living bashing the mouse that Disney has about $200 million in working capital (current assets - current liabilities), which I think either means there really strap for cash and barely have anything for day to day operations (it may seem like a lot but every one of their recent movies have cost more then that), or their a highly efficient business and know exactly how much they need and invests the excess cash in ventures that will increasing the company's total value.

Given how Disney shut down star cruiser and pulled a bunch of disney+ shows to use as tax write offs, ones probably more likely then the other.

Disney has about $200 million in working capital
holy shit is that even payroll for a week?
As large as the Disney coffers are, these are not as brimming with cash as these were even a decade ago.
it sorta goes to show that the THEM! don't communicate quite as much that the mouse bought the fox because "hahaha what's going to happen, the entire world shuts down for a year or two?"
it would have been just a slight risk if not for the panic around the Wuhan Flu, instead it was a second weight when they were only mostly above water with one weight on their leg, but really close to the next big raft

Finance fag logging in and yep their monthly working capital for last quarter was $200 million. That for Disney is incredibly risky because say for example a boat sank, they cannot replace that boat. Steaming is losing them 1 billion + a quarter. The last film that ACTUALLY profited was Frozen 2. Pixar for example have not had a profitable film since Toy Story 4 which was 2019. Parks attendance is actually down, remember they are still on covid capacity to manipulate to investors that they are busy and due to Universal. They have less than 10 billion in physical cash to use, remember that too needs various litigants and probably board clearance to use, so it's locked up essentially.

They also have a massive brain drain too with no imagineers and I assume a massive staff walk out approaching. If Disney loses a lot of CA and FL staff then it's just over at that point. The wages are very low and there are no benefits working there currently. The parks are propped solely by staff and an exodus would be devastating. Years ago Apple were thinking about buying them but that ship has sailed as the brand is too toxic. Their IPs are massively over-valued like Star Wars now is worth less than a billion when they bought it for 4.

Literally every single business uses a line of credit.

Steaming is losing them 1 billion + a quarter.
And if you did actually work in finance you'd know they amortized the Hulu acquisition.

That is literally the exact opposite of what Disney movies are supposed to do, you fuckhead.

Had to look up some Welsh name spellings recently which led to stuff about the old Disney Black Cauldron. Ostensibly there were rumours about a live action remake a few years ago but that seems to have well and truly died. That's still the case right? Because I would have loved to see some of the ESG casting with those names.

Pixar's next movie has a trailer. Behold, the next in the series of 'what if....had feelings?': What if aliens had feelings?

I miss when Pixar actually took their time with their movies and had some gaps between releases. Now it's like they're making one or more every year and its become tiresome, and is probably one of the many reasons for the sheer drop in quality.

So instead of making a movie about the alien race and thier struggles... we're just going to treat them as if it's Toy Story or Inside Out?

This totally wouldn't be actually offensive to any Alien species we happen to have discovered in the future.

Dude this feels like the South Park episode where they make contact... and that Rick and Morty episode.

So in other news Disney delayed everything except Deadpool 3 and Wish. Wish is an awful title as it makes you think of the Chinese company.

These delays mean though that Disney is in the position of not making losses or breaking even. I do not believe the selling Star Wars to George Lucas. That is clear bait to bring out their insider. There was a Succession episode about this and this actually happens. A higher up will tell of the suspecting moles a different lie to work out who it was.

They really don't understand the idea of adventure anymore do they? You let the most sensitive people pin you into a box of ideas so now you just make gay shit.

The relatability of the main character is something that exists so you can explain the story. You can honestly make a duller character a member of the adventure, but not the main character they start the story and move over when the charismatic lead comes in. For fuck's sake some of Disney's biggest hits are literally women going to a fantastic other world with Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. Shit like the Jungle Book, Cinderella, and Dumbo were fun because they had fantastical elements and wanted to entertain you.

I swear to God if they start picking up national myths to fuck up because their original stories suck ass I'm gonna be pissed. I don't want King Arthur where know-it-all black lesbian is Merlin or Paul Bunyan where Paul becomes an environmentalist.
