Well, it was back during the time actors and actresses knew how to act.
If you honestly think that there isn't good acting nowadays then that's kind of on you for solely watching mass-market garbage and/or children's movies. This past year alone has been an incredibly strong year for film acting, watch Tar, Banshees, Master Gardener, Decision to Leave, etc. etc.

Shit, even in the capeshit realm you'll occasionally get a strong performance, Robert Downey, Jr. actually does make an effort in Iron Man 3, and both Dave Bautista and Michael Rooker are excellent in their roles in Guardians.

I'm Thinking of Ending Things, The Menu, The Gentlemen, 1917, Nobody, etc.

Yes, this is known as "acting." I don't know why this scene is constantly getting brought up on Reddit and elsewhere as some bravura performance, yes he's doing his job but it's not like this is a challenging transformation.
You'd be surprised how rarely actors make a point to distinguish the Clark Kent and Superman personas, treating it as if he just put on a pair of glasses and a suit. Reeves being able to really separate the personas is considered an important lesson for Superman actors so they can learn how to be more than just "Superman wearing glasses" or "Clark wearing the blue onesie."

So they shot three different endings and didn't know what to pick so they went with him meeting George Clooney!Batman.......

No matter the ending, the movie was doomed the moment ezra "they/them" miller was arrested.
I hope Michael Keaton at least had some fun, I'm sure his return was welcomed.

Warner Bros. and DC Studios’ “The Flash” opened in first place at the domestic box office this weekend, grossing $55.1 million, according to estimates from measurement firm Comscore. But the superhero movie — whose marketing campaign has been marred by legal scandals and disturbing allegations surrounding its star, Ezra Miller — fell short of early domestic box office projections in the $70-million to $75-million range.

Actors are niggers.

The Flash looks like a bomb.
Unfortunately, it might do "okay" numbers next weekend because there's no other tentpole movies. But audience reaction has been so fiercely negative (for good reason) that I doubt it'll do much better. Two weeks from now there's the new Indiana Jones so it's done by then. So far it's on track to gross less than Black Adam but will still do better than Shazam 2. So around 300-350 million on a 200-220 million budget. My guess it goes to maybe 350 million after all is said and done but remember: studios make less money on the following weekends on the ticket sales. It might make under 300 million.
I'm hoping it stalls at around 200-250 million which there's decent odds of that.

As for the film: it's a horrible shitbomb and an abomination. Anyone who say's this is "good" or even "fine" is a god damn retard and I question your taste in all aspects of media. Beyond just movies, such as I wouldn't trust your opinion on books, games, or even cooking recipes. This film is horrible, it insults the audience every chance it gets, Ezra is a pedophile faggot protected by elite Hollywood pedophile faggots, the deep fakes of dead actors was grotesque, the plot makes zero sense whatsoever if you take even nanoseconds to comprehend what you are watching and I hope Ezra Miller fucking dies, I hope all of the writers of this POS fucking die, I hope all the studio execs and corrupt shadow figures that thought this movie was a good idea and kept this pedo faggot in the movie also die. Push all of these people into an active volcano and maybe then the volcano gods will grant us a good rainy season. Fuck this movie.

Remember that's only the production budget (and I still think it's likely low due to the reshoots and general faffing about). The rule of thumb has long been that to get the true cost of the film (ie production + marketing + distribution + residuals + payment of interest on debt financing etc) you're looking at a total of around 2-2.5x the production budget.

In The Flash's case I think the marketing might even end up being more than normal. A big part of the marketing strategy for films is to have the star (or preferably stars) do a publicity tour. Get em on every shitty late night show, get em on every big radio station, and interviewed in every major publication they can etc. However that wasn't possible with this film for obvious reasons. Hell as far as I can tell Ezra only did one fucking interview on the red carpet at the premiere, and you know that was carefully chosen and stage managed to hell to make sure they don't ask any inconvenient questions about his batshittery.

It's 3X the budget to be profitable.

I have to say that I found it rather poetic that The Flash, the character who helped rejuvenate superhero comics for the Silver Age, is also the one who is signaling the downfall of the current cape movie phenomena. It'll likely stick around for a few more years, but I highly doubt that the tepid response to post-Endgame MCU and implosion of the DCCU will allow it to last much longer. Call me optimistic, but the current climate feels like its waiting for the next big thing to show up for audiences.

It'd be nice if they just let a Director & Writer team up and make a damn movie instead of all this Extended-Multi-Cinematic-Parrarlel universe crap. Can't we just go back to the old days where you just let a director express his vision for a movie and that was it? Imagine if they had wanted to do this MCU Garbage when Tim Burton was starting up Batman 89, "Okay Tim you have to plan what it's like for Superman and Green Lantern to come in at the very end!"

Joaquin Pheonix's Joker is that. They let the guy who did The Hangover essentially make a giant tribute to Scorcese. And it worked and surpassed everything DC has made since.
