I swear this format of defense/announcement comic can be a fucking stereotype by now
>begins with a "so ___ has been pretty difficult lately" type of statement
>immediately makes you feel sorry for the author, often by referencing (likely non-existent) death threats or otherwise making the author out to be literally carrying "the burden of so much hate"
>author "takes a step back", almost always transitioned into with a "but when"
>author is either happier or no longer upset, often while simultaneously propping up his/her own greatness
>sends love or tolerance or acceptance to "the haters", often literally represented by a computer with an angry face or a bad message or some other literal object/amorphous entity meant to """symbolize""" the opposition
>ends either on a snarky rebuttal to all the "haters" or a reassurance of how great the author is/how this isn't affecting him/her at all. Or both!!
>very rarely actually polished, often in monochrome or with one or two colors to contrast the author's usual work (which is guaranteed to be very colorful and childish 95% of the time)
>always in that shitty fucking scroll format that decides paneling is for plebs and nobody has a computer nowadays
>NEVER actually addresses any critique
this is like the quintessential example, istg, it is aggravating
