ive noticed this people larping as return to monke yet they spend all day on the internet who praise ted and repost ted memes but never think critically or talk about his bombings or the faults of his ideas why do people have this hivemind mentality he was right on some things but its dumb how people larp as ted lovers while not seeing his faults

Honestly his work is worth checking out. He destills what everyone feels about everything wrong with the modern world into a succinct work. Of course he said and did lots of insane shit too. His mail bombs never jumpstarted any revolutions nor does anyone wish to go back to pre-modern-medicine. People admire what Ted came to symbolize: the frank rejection of modern life's insanity.

It’s absolutely stupid how some (I wouldn’t say a lot, but definitely a noticeable few,) are hard in their shorts over the man. It’s the same types who are followers, going along to get along, and these types can’t separate a decent work from a shit person. I enjoyed Industrial Society & it’s Future and know that old Ted was a sociopath for killing all kinds of people. Some of his work was good, many of his actions were fucked up. I think that many of the people going around hero worshiping the Unabomber do it to try and fit in here, as his writings are admired by Null, and there’s always the group of fanboys LARPing around agreeing with anything he says, even if Null never said anything about liking him beyond his writing, the followers jump on a bandwagon of their own design. Most are probably too young to understand what went down and never bothered to do so. I like plenty of music where I dislike the person making it. Common in art. It comes down to insecurities and people wanting to belong. The lucky ones grow outta that shit. Obviously I’m not talking about those who appreciate his writings, more so those who can’t shut up about “how cool“ he was.

I feel like being ok with what he was preaching, and trying to detach them from the killings kinda sounds like defending. You know, I wouldn't defend the writings of a guy who kills random people (and not even the people he considers the people responsible for all the bad stuff in the world) or even torturing animals (and talking about killing little girls like a psychopath). I feel the those things are deeply connected.

i think his stuff about over socialization and acadamics being sheep are true but i think hes wrong to suggest all tech is bad and that he bombed randos not feds or anything like that but people praise every quote they read uncritically because they are terminially online zoomers if someone wants to put their money where there mouth is and live like ted without the bombings i support them but its just most of these people are oversocialized who quote ted as a cope pretty much

Because it's fun to pretend that a crazy guy who lived in the woods and killed and injured people because some trees around his crazy Boomer inna woods shack were being cut down is some kind of hero and prophet when he really wasn't. If you actually read his manifesto like I did you would figure this out.

They labeled Kaczynski the UNAbomber because he mostly targeted universities and airports. The first bombs he sent out in the late 70's and early 80's were made in wooden boxes so they never caused the amount of damage he wanted. I think one victim got some wooden splinters stuck in them like fragmentation from a bomb and some fingers got blown off. Still a pretty horrific thing to have happen. Over time his bombs improved and he managed to kill 3 people while injuring over 20 more. He mostly killed and severely injured a bunch of no body wagies. He never really attacked anyone of any importance. Like the kind of people that were actually causing the issues he claimed in his manifesto. So a bunch of low level worker drones got injured and killed. What a total badass. /sarcasm

Then you have all the claims that he was a genius. Yet he could never manage to build a working bomb except a few times. He didn't even put much planning into it. Low IQ dune coon terrorists build better bombs than Kaczynski did. You would think someone at that level of genius claimed by his fans would have at least researched how to build a bomb and how they work. Keep in mind this is back when you could still do that and get away with it. Also his claims of being involved in MKUltra were never proven as far as I know of.

Then you have the actual manifesto which was mostly just a bunch of obvious stuff that people already knew and some armchair psychology ramblings from a guy who wasn't mentally well himself. I read it and I didn't find anything that profound about it. It was just the ramblings of a crazy unhinged weirdo.

Technology has progressed and it's having an impact on the world. Really mind blowing stuff. That has never happened in human history.

Ted Kaczynski went on his domestic terrorist rampage because trees were being cut down around his crazy shack in the woods. There was no other motivation. His view was being ruined and he didn't like it. It would be like if you stuck a bunch of pink flamingos outside in your lawn and one of your neighbors didn't like it so they would start sending people mail bombs. This is the level of unhinged crazy that Kaczynski was. A minor inconvenience and now people have to die. You can debate about his mental health all you want but he clearly wasn't mentally well. No sane person behaves this way.

But 40+ years later and we still have people doing the edgy teenager thing and pretending Ted Kaczynski was a hero and some sort of prophet when he really wasn't. He was just a crazy Boomer hiding in the woods and he didn't like the view around his crazy shack being disturbed and he decided the best thing to do was to take the lives of other people. Instead of moving his crazy shack to another part of the woods. Then you have the people that think reading the manifesto and talking about how smart Kaczynski was makes them look smart as well. It doesn't. It just makes you look like an unhinged weirdo. Saying you have read the UNAbomber manifesto isn't going to impress anyone. It's not considered a piece of classic literature. It's the ramblings of a crazy man. Matter of fact if you really wanted to upset normies just claim you read Mein Kampf and you agreed with it.
