Feedback Technical Grievances

I'm getting constant timeouts when trying to load pages (anywhere on the site). Plus, chat is in a constant loop of "connection lost, connecting". People are still posting, though, so I guess this is on my end? I just want to know for sure.

Close Tor and reopen it until it works. Used to be that changing the circuit helped, but for some reason that doesn't work for me anymore

There seems to be an issue with SimpleLogin and confirmation emails from mailbot@kiwifarms.net. I tried multiple aliases over a few days and nothing got through. Finally switched to Firefox Relay and it worked on first attempt.

For some reason, when I try to log in via email(I have two step verification) the access code won't send. So I'm forced to rely on backup codes. Can a staff member look into this please?
I ran into this again on the same device as before. I checked my time settings and for some reason NTP sync was disabled, enabling that fixed it. Alternatively, make sure your time is synced with an accurate clock.

One thing I found is that is you keep saying yes to Authenticator asking to save your credentials, it eventually starts offering them when you go to login on the mobile app. Sometimes.

Been having the same issue for the last few hours. Then I activated the bridges under settings > connection.
Oh damn this really does wonders even if I have no clue what any of the options mean.

For anyone using Brave it's in Settings->Privacy and Security then scroll down to Tor windows.

it adds a lag, but it does seem more consistent and reliable now

I say this knowing jack and shit about how networks/internet, sneedchat, zenforo, or anything else involved works.

But does auto-connecting to sneedchat affect how a user connects to the site in any way? Because if I had an option to just not connect to/remove sneedchat to make the site load/work faster I'd pick it.

It must be important because multiple requests over the months to make it an option have gone ignored.

Significant issues when pasting images in to threads - the upload of the image will be at 100% and everything appears to be flowing successfully until attempts to post are done. Error message will cycle warning that upload isn't complete. Happens after refreshing and reconnecting on a new identity. Ignoring the error message and posting shows images pasted with no issue.

I suspect it acts as a lightning rod for low-effort posters. Keeps conversational garbage out of topical threads.
That being said, my phone hasn't had seizures since we switched to tor for DOS protection so it might not have had as big of an impact as I thought

So just block the element.
Code:
kiwifarms.net wss://kiwifarms.net/chat.ws websocket block
kiwifarms.net https://kiwifarms.net/test-chat xmlhttprequest block
kiwifarms.net https://no-cookie.kiwifarms.net/js/happyboard/chat/ script block
That's for uBlock origin.

Attachments do not appear to be working. They upload fine, but when you attempt to put them into the post they are broken images. Old attachments are stating "this image file contains errors." I have already attempted new circuit and even attempted a new guard in case mine was a bad one.

Some attachments are showing, but most do not appear to want to. Some avatars are also not loading in.

I was m,id post when it went wonky and things added before hand work fine, but anyhing i add now is broken files.

Here is the post when you attempt to post with thumbnail it just says try again later and the full size image states "file not found" (only posted full image to show the error.)

If you attempt to paste an image instead of using the attach files it uploads to 100% then states image cannot be parsed from link.

i've been reloading since I posted and it still does not work
that's why I came here
if you posted the image when attachments weren't working you may have to edit and readd the image. It was making that error for me earlier, but seems to be fixed now.

I have a conjecture I'm not sure if there's an easy way of testing, but I'm pretty sure when you control+shift+l (or whatever your browser uses) to change the circuit, it continues to use the session credential you got after submitting the proof-of-work, because you generally don't have to do another PoW.

I think sometimes it's bad but your browser doesn't know this or for some reason the server doesn't accept it. So instead of getting the PoW page you just get nothing.

I know it loses the session credential when you restart entirely, because you always have to do another PoW.

Usually if you just directly connect to a page on the Farms without a session credential from a PoW, it immediately fails over to the url that gets you to the PoW page. But maybe sometimes it doesn't.
