Alibaba, AliExpress, DHGate, Wish, Taobao, Temu & more! - CHEAP CHINK SHIT GENERAL THREAD

AliExpress is a godsend for cheap electronic components, particularly cloned breakout boards for chips, the likes of AdaFruit or SparkFun charge upwards of $30 for. Only a handful of these have turned up non-functional for me over several years, so I'd call that a pretty good track record. As long as you know exactly what you're looking for and are planning to use the thing for non-critical purposes and well below advertised tolerances, you'll be gold.

Steer well clear, however, of anything with flash memory (cards, USB drives, SSDs etc.) and be extremely wary of lithium batteries or anything that plugs into mains.

I used to get hair extensions from Aliexpress. I wanted them blonde and all the blonde extensions from expensive brands suck. Plus I wanted really long ones, which can be hard to find and can be super expensive. So if I was going to buy awful hair extensions, I at least wanted to pay a low price. I bought tape-ins. I think the longest I got was either 26 or 28 inches. It was real hair. The problem with the tape ins is that there isn’t enough hair on the tape and even if I bought 20 hair tapes they wouldn’t all fit in my head. If I were to buy hair from Aliexpress again, I’d probably get a halo-style extension or just classic clip-ins. I also bought a rainbow lace front synthetic wig from Aliexpress but I’m not brave enough to wear it in public.

I’ve gotten some clothes from Aliexpress and I’ve had good luck with that. You just have to make sure you measure your body and read reviews to determine whether they run small. My absolute favorite thing to get from Aliexpress is lashes. You know those American brands that advertise mink lashes for $20-$40? You can get them from Aliexpress for $2 a pair. I was gifted a pair of name brand mink lashes one year (forgot the name but I’m pretty sure it was a brand the kardashians used) and I preferred my Aliexpress lashes over it. Plus you get a nifty plastic case to keep them in.

I created this one thread on /fa/ about pictures I found in the review section of suits on AliExpress.
Check it out, it's fucking gold.

I get a lot of cute home accessories + storage stuff, gardening bits and bobs and craft stuff / cute trinkets for my kid from Shein. I’m kind of ashamed when people ask me where I’ve got things from when they come to my house and I think about lying about it lol. My favourite is a massive wall hanging with a girl and a tiger and loads of plants, it was so cheap but looks so good. I also just got an adorable little plant pot that’s like a girl’s head and she has gold rabbit ears and is blowing pink bubblegum, I love it.

I’ve bought clothes too which are really hit and miss, agree with a previous poster about the underwear though - it’s consistently really poor quality.

When LOL dolls were all the rage and my kid collected them I bought mystery bags of them from Aliexpress and they were genuine ones just with minor imperfections, we got a couple of ltd edition and rare ones too which was really exciting. I just use Shein now because the app is pretty good compared to the other two. Definitely going to check out the other ones in this thread that I hadn’t heard of until now!

I honestly try to find small chinese/asian online stores that have cheaper and more trustworthy shipping.

Though if i need something super specific I can’t find in those stores or if i need something that I use up alot and wanna buy it in bulk I check aliexpress or alibaba

My method when shopping for which vendor is checking the rating for purchaser from 3rd world country as they tend to be the pickiest. also if possible just pay a bit extra in shipping, cuz I hear alot of bad shit of the shipping is done by AliExpress.

Also wanna use this opportunity to shill for Cleanroom wipes. Especially if your tired of paper towels leaving lint or having to use ur already dirty towels.

Holy crap, I have that toast lamp that’s in the preview image. It lives on my office desk. I get such a kick out of the little thing.

I used to order a ton of stickers off of Wish back when they sent individual things straight to you. Once they started doing it in a big, collective package it wasn’t as fun.

I’ve also gotten into model kits recently and have taken to buying blatant bootlegs of decals and resin “garage kit” parts on AliExpress. Better price than the authentic ones and since they’re actually available, I don’t feel as bad if I mess up or ruin something.

I customize dolls and AliExpress actually has some better versions of things I need. For example, the official Toy Story collection Woody doll from Thinkway toys has two small holes in the back of his hat, supposedly to prevent kids from making a suction cup with the hat around their mouth and asphyxiating. The Chinese knockoff fixes that and the hats have no holes! This plus the fact Thinkway toys isn't even in business anymore makes it worth hitting up AliExpress for what I need. Still need to bite the bullet on some Alibaba samples though...

surprisingly knockoff Lego sets on Aliexpress have been really high quality, I've picked up about 20 different Harry Potter sets for wife. temu.com is a more Amazon-style aliexpress alternative that carries a lot of the same items, but much faster usually free shipping...

I know TEDi has been selling some really well-made lego knockoffs for a while now, and there were a few Kickstarters for custom lego sets that used chinese manufacturers for the parts.

I myself got a bunch of pink tohunga made a while back for the shiggles and the results were really decent. Even the more questionable parts like the throwing arm had good coloring and didn't snap with use.

I've also had good experiences with buying clothes from AliExpress. You obviously have to stay away from anything that looks like it would disintegrate in the wash. Because it will! Or just hand wash it.

Pretty sure the dyes still have phthalates in them though if you're concerned about that.

Best place to get troon outfits in my experience. The phthalates are a bonus in that case.
