Polissa is done with her family, y'all! They never helped her after tricking her to work on and move into her dilapidated trailer with no running water or central air! Someone took her to throw axes and to watch shitty family run concerts, but WORST BIRTHDAY EVER! When she gets that 50 cents from her COPD mattress lawsuit, she is cutting them off! Fuck YOU, family!

Not a single person could have seen this coming! No one in the entire world could have predicted that this would be the exact outcome of moving in to Tub Trumpet Manor.
Seriously it's almost boring that her move to La Casa Trompeta happened exactly as expected. ALMOST boring.
I hope she does get some small sum of money from the mattress settlement that feels large to her. It would be fun to see her completely fail to spend it on anything remotely necessary.

It's really a marvel to behold just how ungrateful Polissa is. If the tugboat didn't get her something, you can rest assured it came from her family: the trailer, the "family land", the shitty car, the birthday party. Last year she got a birthday cake and a backup birthday cake. All from family. I don't know how any of them put up with her honestly. I'd have kicked her ungrateful ass out weeks ago.

i really want her family to remind her that she is there at their discretion, and can therefore be removed at their discretion. if they aren't willing to let her shower then they are probably pretty exasperated already. she doesn't seem to realise the precariousness of her situation, she is there by their grace only- we've seen no reference to any contracts and even if there is one, it would possibly be voided by the trailer being uninhabitable.
if i was her family i'd already be trying to work out how to get rid of her without her trashing my place. probably take her on a trip somewhere, say you're buying at the local walmart, and just drive off. when she inevitably turns up raging have the police remove her from your property.
i don't know how homelessness support works in alabama but over here councils can get out of housing you if you are 'voluntarily homeless,' they'd probably argue that case if you are homeless due to choosing to leave your cheap place then behaving so abominably to the people you are staying with.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't part of nan and auntie's master plan. Offer a falling down shack with no water, dodgy or no electricity, and when Polissa and Jo h inevitably bite the hand that feeds them, the family can finally cut ties and be rid of those overgrown ticks forever.
Or maybe they live so badly themselves that they genuinely think that Polissa and Jo h's 'forever home' is perfectly inhabitable with new pipes and just a touch up here and there. That wouldn't surprise me either, given the generations of dysfunction and how pretty much the entire family seem to suffer from personality disorders and/or mental illness.
And what a shock, Polissa whining about not having air conditioning! It's ludicrous that she's more upset by not having air con than she is about not having running water. I mean, air con is awesome, I live in the tropics where the heat and humidity is absolutely brutal, but not having water will kill you. Heatwaves can and do kill people too, but not having water will kill everyone. Sure they can fill up buckets from nan's garden tap and haul water inside anyway, but their ability to cook, clean and care for themselves, the house and their animals are severely limited by how much water a single man with untreated diabetes can haul around in a single day. Polissa can't carry water because of her 'fibro'? What's stopping her from getting online and begging for a set of matching wheels, an old wooden crate and a length of rope that can be turned into a crude box car that can be loaded up and dragged around? Or even just nicking a bloody shopping trolly from the supermarket? Even in bed and with a low IQ Polissa could be creating useful community contacts and researching all sorts of ways of making do and little ways of improving their situation. She can't even open the fucking windows of her house to let some air in, because of the cats! There's no landlord or rental agreement stopping them from scavenging old chicken wire and improvising a way of putting it up over the windows, it's not like some extra nail holes are going to make those walls any worse.
The internet is an incredible resource of information, obtaining free shit, and sucking up to useful people. Instead she lies in bed all day, watching fantasy movies and surfing useless social media. Even if it's hard for her to read for long, there are vidya tutorials on pretty much anything you could ever think of on YT, and I'd be shocked if there isn't at least one DIY themed Discord out there where she can voice chat with DIY enthusiasts.
I know a person with severe fibromalgia to the point where her eyes are affected, and she was able to obtain multiple degrees and a doctorate because she was able to use her community contacts and utilise what resources she had into getting friends, volunteers and support workers to come over several times a week to read out loud and type for her. Paul Alexander has been in an iron lung since he was six, and he's a practicing lawyer!
It's insane how many opportunities Polissa and Jo h have thrown away to make a comfortable life for themselves, because they're so convinced that other people should do it for them.
