I mean, that was on a PS3...What kind of psycho wants to play Bethesda games on a sony console? I remember Fallout 3 hitting zero frames per second during a Digital Foundry analysis.

Well speaking of that, apparently MS bought Bethesda/Zenimax partly because they were afraid PlayStation would pull their usual shit and get Bethesda to make Starfield PS-exclusive.What kind of psycho wants to play Bethesda games on a sony console?
Microsoft Purchased Bethesda To Stop Starfield From Being A PlayStation Exclusive
Day two of the case between Microsoft and the FTC took place in San Francisco on Friday where the FTC is trying to stop the Microsoft acquisition of Activision Blizzard from moving forward. During Friday’s hearings, nothing was bigger than the revelation of why Microsoft purchased Bethesda parent company ZeniMax. Xbox head Phil Spencer stated that Microsoft ultimately purchased Bethesda to stop Starfield from being a PlayStation exclusive.
“When we acquired ZeniMax one of the impetus for that is that Sony had done a deal for Deathloop and Ghostwire…to pay Bethesda to not ship those games on Xbox,” Spencer said during his testimony.
“So the discussion about Starfield when we heard that Starfield was potentially also going to end up skipping Xbox, we can’t be in a position as a third-place console where we fall further behind on our content ownership so we’ve had to secure content to remain viable in the business.”
When Microsoft purchased ZeniMax Media in 2020, it did so for $7.5 billion.
In addition to his comments on Starfield, Spencer said that he couldn’t confirm whether Elder Scrolls VI will be an Xbox exclusive or not. Spencer said that its too early for that decision.
“It’s difficult for us right now to nail down,” he said.
One game that is certain to be an Xbox exclusive is the upcoming Indiana Jones game. Coming from Bethesda, it was confirmed on Thursday that the game will be for Xbox and PC only.
What do you think of Spencer saying that Microsoft purchased Bethesda to guarantee Starfield released on Xbox?
Kutaragi was a brash, temperamental, and outspoken man in a society that taught that "the nail that sticks out gets hammered down." Sure, he was a brilliant, driven engineer, but he didn't fit into Sony's traditional power structure. PlayStation sales carried Sony through a dry spell, but at the cost of empowering Kutaragi and further infuriating his corporate rivals. Misery loves company; it despises other people's success. Many Sony executives openly despised Kutaragi, describing him as disrespectful, abrasive, and something even more unforgivable in Sony's buttoned-down culture: "untraditional."
So now it makes sense why Sony keeps making weird ass decisions with the PlayStation: they never wanted to do it in the first place.Nobuyuki Idei, who had been appointed CEO earlier that year, gave a speech in which he congratulated himself for having stood by Kutaragi's PlayStation project from the very beginning. In truth, Idei had voted to abandon PlayStation, as had every other executive on the board. Had Idei's predecessor, Norio Ohga, not used his authority to push the project through, Kutaragi would have had to abandon it. Breaking with tradition, Kutaragi challenged Idei by stating that Ohga had been the only executive who supported the PlayStation. In Japanese corporate culture, contradicting a superior in a public forum is tantamount to a declaration of war. Other executives might have been fired on the spot. Kutaragi, however, could not be sacked easily. His PlayStation division had contributed approximately 40 percent of Sony's profits the year before.
I'm convinced that Sony and Microsoft both absolutely LOATHE being in the console market space. So now it makes sense why Sony keeps making weird ass decisions with the PlayStation: they never wanted to do it in the first place.
I swear, Sony was good with television sets and walkmen. Them turning into a multimedia industry (getting into film/TV and video game) was a huge mistake.some choice highlights:

Damn, never thought i'd feel bad for that sad little autist. For what's it worth, i always enjoyed his Olympic-level mental gymnastics diatribes and the ensuing shit talk by virtually everyone else in this thread.@Marissa Moira fucked off because he ran into real life issues involving a death in the family and just never came back. At least that's the reason he gave me in private before he disappeared.
So what you're saying is that all 3 companies hate their jobs and they should quit and let the games industry die?I'm convinced that Sony and Microsoft both absolutely LOATHE being in the console market space.
It's why Microsoft is trying to pivot so hard into producing and distribution of software and Sony is trying so hard to push their IP into film. None of them actually want to be the ones making the fucking machines.
I'm starting to suspect Nintendo didn't really like it either in the grand scheme of "gaming". They didn't even view themselves in the same space as the others/still thought of themselves as being their own thing/a toy company until Iwata died, I'm pretty sure.
But then how will these non-binary, transgender, Black, lesbian, empowered folx be able to stick it to the icky, nasty chud gamers if they don't make games exclusively starring themselves and shove them down their throats until they have no choice but to comply?!So what you're saying is that all 3 companies hate their jobs and they should quit and let the games industry die?
I agree whole-heartedly!
If only they could all abandon consoles entirely and just make games for PC.I'm convinced that Sony and Microsoft both absolutely LOATHE being in the console market space.

I don't know, we're about halfway there with Sony.If only they could all abandon consoles entirely and just make games for PC.
I can dream, can't I?
Xbox fans learn how to use PCs, Playstation fans sneed themselves to death, and Nintendo fans get steady framerates? Sign me up!If only they could all abandon consoles entirely and just make games for PC.

The Xbox is already just a locked down PC, I can see Microsoft just adding a game mode to windows and just selling PCs instead in the future. A bunch of Nintendo subsidiaries already have functional PC ports of their games, Xenoblade 3 has left over shader files from a PC build, and Retro has a PC build of their engine along with Vulkan support. I just don't see Sony really moving to PC, they just drop their sloppy seconds onto PC with awful optimization a year or two later. It's weird that I can see Nintendo releasing games on PC before Sony moves over.Xbox fans learn how to use PCs, Playstation fans sneed themselves to death, and Nintendo fans get steady framerates? I mean...you said it yourself, Sony releases sloppy seconds on PC. Like I said though, this is a weird one to push for since even Todd has subtly implied that ES6 won't even be on Series X. You'd think they'd push for Starfield since it's actually going to come out this year but instead Sony niggers are dead set trying to convince themselves that game will somehow be more shit than any other Bethesda game.
The Elder Scrolls 6 Is At Least 'Five-Plus Years Away', Platforms Still TBD
Even Phil Spencer isn't sure what it's coming to
As part of today's FTC hearing, Elder Scrolls fans got an unexpected update about the status of the long-awaited sixth entry in the series.
When questioned about Bethesda's next major project, originally revealed by the company back in 2018, Xbox boss Phil Spencer mentioned how it was still potentially "five-plus years" away. As for the platforms it will be on, apart from Xbox and PC, that's hard to determine at this point in time.
Here's what he had to say:
Again, it's not exactly surprising to hear just how far out this game potentially is, considering Bethesda hasn't even shipped its space RPG Starfield yet, due out this September.Phil Spencer: "As I said, with Elder Scrolls VI, it's so far out--it's hard to understand what the platforms will even be at this point. It's the same team that's finishing Starfield, which comes out this September. So we're talking about a game that's like five-plus years away."
As for the platforms, according to some previous reports there have been suggestions ES6 will be exclusive to Microsoft's ecosystem, but there's been no proper clarification. What does seem to be the case is that it could very well be a next-generation title.

I'm honestly surprised Microsoft hasn't tried to sell a stripped down Windows OS for PC just labeled XBox OS.Microsoft will have to eventually create a gaming focused version of Windows without the bloat and with handhelds interface in mind because SteamOS is demonstrating that you don't even need them to play PC games.
no fuckin' kidding:You know modders would do all kind of crazy stuff if they could easily have access to a PC version of Nintendo's game files.
Square Enix can't lose a chance of losing money. And we probably going to have to wait even more time, because there in no chance in this gay planet i going to make an Epic account. It really pisses me off that Square Enix keep delaying all their games that I actually want to play on PC for months after the damned PlayStation release. I want to play Final Fantasy 16, it's not going to come out until some time next year. I wanted to play the FF7 Remake, it didn't come out for over a year on PC.
Meanwhile what we get day one is complete garbage like "Avengers" and "Forspoken"
The PC port happened at the best time, right before they released the half assed 3d collection. I just wish the OOT port wasn't run by discord niggers, nobody has even bothered to do anything with it because its all locked on discord and run by trannies.no fuckin' kidding:
God, that still makes me mad. Ship of Harkinian is a good port all things considered, but thanks to the screeching Discord mob, OpenOcarina just faded into obscurity. History really is written by the winners. Also I'm pretty sure mouse and gyro are some of the first things SoH added. The PC port happened at the best time, right before they released the half assed 3d collection. Small anecdote about the discord larper OOT port, since I will take any chance I can to sneed about them, apparently they are so shit at coding that they say a Wii port is impossible because its not powerful enough to run it. They claim they barely got it working on the Wii U. I would point out how retarded they are because the Gamecube can emulate it, which is a hell of a lot more demanding than running the game natively, but if I said that they would throw a hissy fit over how its 'open source' and how they are all 'volunteers'. It sucks that they bullied the OpenOcarina project out of existence, that one was being worked on by a wife beater who actually knows how to code and was working on native 60fps instead of a buggy half broken framerate interpolator. I believe the larpers still don't even support mouse or gyro.
Strangely, Mario 64 still doesn't have Gamecube or Wii ports despite being ported to even weaker hardware. Two people separately tried and failed to make a Wii port, then no one else tried it again.Meanwhile with Mario64, its been ported to anything that can run it, including things that cant run it, even ported to other games.
