Eyes on the Street is a massive cope to the crime and safety issues in major cities and on mass transit systems.

First, all it takes are certain circumstances and a person calling police on a mentally ill person harassing other passengers can result in claims of abusing 911 or being racist.

Second, the NJB and FuckCars type would rarely if ever intervene in such a situation. Calling the police could be perceived as racist and "signing the death warrant" for a poor Black crazy man while personally intervening could result in physical injury or criminal charges (if the melenation is right).

As such, when faced with this cognitive dissonance and helplessness they just retreat into there cell phones or games.

The most damning case was the Penny incident, which is exactly what they "say" they want: standing together with your fellow transit riders (in contrast with the "selfish cagers" or whatever) and trying to actually do something. I'm sure that what led up to the confrontation was a lot of people trying the "talking strategy" which clearly didn't work.

And of course, when that story broke, they collectively looked the other way.

If it isn't open to the public then isn't the quality of the feed more due to selective usership than any algorithm? I don’t think Jason will like it as much when it opens up to the unwashed masses.

At this point Jason is probably better off hiring someone to steal something off Github and host his own social media platform. I get the feeling he's the sort of guy that would like to be the unchallenged head janny of his domain so this would be the logical conclusion.

It doesn't matter if only 10 people end up using it as long as he gets to remain unchallenged and any dissent is punished in a draconian manner.

At the time it happened, I remember asking one of my lefty friends point blank what was so bad about the comment. I should point out he only conceded these places were shitholes after I pointed out most of these places would literally burn him alive in the street for being a proffer. He essentially told me "even if they are shitholes the leader of the free world shouldn't punch down like that". These people literally believe Haiti would be Wakanda if it weren't for the huwhite man, that is how strong their white guilt is.

Lol story time: like right before the covid lockdowns, me and a few kiwis went to monster jam in Baltimore. It was me, @BOLDYSPICY!, @walkingstickman, lipitor, @Randall Fragg and 50k Mexican families. I enjoyed it far more than I expected.

Alan Fisher has posted a new video on why the new Acela trains are still in the yard and not running.

Didn't watch the video but I guess it's due to safety precautions as the trains need to run their entire route for testing before humans can board.

Problem is rail freight.

I am guessing Alan being a communist would suggest nationalizing the rail industry making rail freight secondary or being like China and bulldozing people homes and businesses for rail.

No, I won't give that communist a click.

These dummies think that nationalizing the railroads will magically fix everything, when in reality the maintenance will probably be just as it is now, they'll be just as much cost-cutting, and the above-average chance that someone in charge will realize that freight > passengers and put it back in its place.

That's literally what happened in China. They built up a ton of high-speed passenger rail, but almost no freight rail.

They ship bulk materials by truck in China, which is unheard of in the US.

As the old saying goes "you attract more flies with honey than vinegar". I think at this point fuckcars is realizing Jason as being more of a negative asset to their cause than a benefit. Which is honestly really telling considering the people who advocate vandalism are calling Jason too angry.
When this thread started, Jason wasn't nearly as the "REEEEE North America, REEEEE cars" prick he is now. But what probably got him on /r/fuckcars' bad side is he was a complete douche to his fans and then his whole "my videos aren't for North Americans" despite that being his audience. And when you have that sort of spite it's only a matter of time before people start turning on you.

His increasing desire for an ultra-safe hugbox to the point where he thinks even his own controlled Reddit isn't safe will probably lead to him nuking his YouTube channel at this rate.
