Shoplifiting has gotten so bad in NYC, stores are forced to put locks on the ice cream section or security lids on the pints of ice cream.

Some stores in Seattle have been doing this too. What I've heard is that junkies will steal ice cream and gorge on it because opiate abuse can cause intense sugar cravings.

You know, I'm really thinking there's a nonzero chance that Jill or someone close to Biden is trying to get Joe to step down for the good of his health, and then formally annouce a diagnosis of dementia. That or Alzheimer's. I just think that because there's a lot of ways the Democrats can install the people they want and get their supporters to accept their narrative. To the point that there has to be SOME REASON that that plan hasn't been enacted by now after all that's happened. Unless everything is above water, that is.

I don't think they will ever publicly admit his has dementia or Oldtimer's because that would open the door to people saying he's been incapacitated his whole term.

Remember there are still people who breathlessly insist Reagan had Alzheimer's as early as his first term and he was a vegetable.

It's so wild to think that as little as 20 years ago that was the solid case. That it was Dems mostly against open borders and that Obama on his first term was actually pushing more control.

Just a reminder that Trump’s evil and racist border policy in 2016 was cribbed from Bill Clinton’s border policy in 1995, which was drafted by a black woman, Barbara Jordan. People at the time were universally pissed off at illegal labor at the time because people would get E. coli from vegetables because beaners would shit in the fields, wipe their asses with their hands and then handle our lettuce right afterwards. Everyone was on board with automation and mechanization of labor so vegetables can be picked safely.

It’s amazing how quickly and radically this country has shifted. The 1990s are simply another world from current year plus eight. The even sadder part is that now nobody advocates any kind of border policy. Borders are racist and get in the way of muh free markets. America is now just a giant bodega.

I misread Congo as Chicago at first, and that would apply the same. I'm not a doomer or anything, but shit's gotten real bad in many places.

The only proof that Reagan ever showed any signs of Alzhaimers while he was president I can think of is a reporter saying he seemed confused and lost in a quite uncharacteristic way for him in a interview he did in 1986/7, and even then the guy says that over the course of the about 20 minutes they were talking Reagan went from this confusion to perfectly alert and back to normal before the first 10 minutes were up and he thought it was just a case of him being a bit tired but looking back he thinks it was a early sign.

Of course, it is trivial for people to look back and "diagnose" Alzheimer's on him given we know already he had it and just retroactivelly explaining any slight bumps he might have had as it.

Hell Trump's abortion policy is pretty much "Safe, legal and rare" plucked straight from one of the only real Ws Bill had in calming down the Abortion debate. there's a doc I work with sporadically who was flight surgeon on Air Force 2 for Bush Sr, he says Ronnie was a little wobbly by halfway into the second term but nothing _really_ egregious until years later
