No, it's just a cheaper version of police helicopters. The feds used it in the US during the 2020 riots too; in fact, FBI drone footage was part of what cleared Rittenhouse, since it showed Rosenbaum starting the confrontation that led to the chase.

Unless cops are planning to fight in the streets, drones don't do much to help. It's hard to use commercial ones to identify and arrest people; however, if an arrest is made on the ground, they can review the footage to use for evidence later.

There's still no substitute for boots on the ground and guns at the ready. They aren't stopping these riots with some aerial B-roll footage.

Although plundering and preservation are not entirely mutually exclusive, it is ironic that many artefacts removed from their homelands have been treated with more respect and have had a higher chance of continued survival than those left in place.
