Regarding many in the west and their love/pity of the underdog, I view a lot of this as both a show of great humanity of the micro scale and of hubris on the macro scale. That's great, there's a well placed sense of empathy and compassion. Yes, the Western psyche is conditioned from a young age to root for and even protect the underdog which is then extrapolated into ANY MINORITY GROUP in the West, be it fundamentalist Muslims, homosexuals, trannies, "refugees", etc. On a big scale it's the coddling and protection of degenerates or actual threats to the society.

I'm pretty sure it's a different video. Summer of Love Batman was in a completely different locale - some grassy area in front of a building with glass windows. The architecture in that video looks distinctly French. Plus there was also smoke/tear gas in the 2020 video.

The idea that you could impose an economic union and single currency on a bunch of different countries with completely different standards of living and budgetary policies was lunacy, and proved to be so when they started having to bail out the PIGS in the middle aughts. The idea that you could then from there enforce a political union and single political vision on these countries, who in addition to not only having different views on budgetary policies also have completely different views on every other topic of politics and governance, was even more insane.

The promise of the European Union versus the reality of the European Union is basically that old Boomer-tier joke about the difference between Heaven and Hell: "Heaven is where the lovers are Italian, the police are British, the cooks are French, the mechanics are German, and it is all organized by the Swiss.
