The artist is still drawing! Great! Unfortunately, this artist seems to have taken a couple of leaves from PurpleKecleon's book (no, thankfully, she's not rolling around in shit and fucking pedo dogmonglers).
Her art seems to be stagnating (not to say she hasn't improved from when she first started drawing portraits and the like, but there's something off), whereas before she used to be much more adventurous with lighting to create baroque-esque moody scenes, now everything is techni-colorful and 'shiny' and the lighting is all over the place. It's too colorful. She calls it 'pop art' but combining it with photorealism drops everything into uncanny valley, like looking at a doll or a wax figure instead of a real person. Her art output has plummeted; she used to put out tons of varying pics every month but now you're lucky to get anywhere from 5-10, if any.
Also, Castiel/Misha Collins. Good fucking god how many times can you draw the same grumpy baby-faced angel in a trenchcoat? There's at least 16 pieces of the dude in her dA alone. And those are just finished pieces, post-deletion. I can assure you that number is definitely higher from what I remember.
"But Johnny," Some of you are probably saying by now, "literally no one cares if some washed up Tumblr artist got anon hate like four years ago and is a sperg for some shitty gay angel! You're just criticizing shit without providing any lolcow milk! TL;DR!"
...I was getting to that. So right. Criticism.
See, this artist has now taken it upon themselves to react to any and all criticism (constructive or weening) with a defensive backlash of "I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK I'M DOING WHAT MAKES ME HAPPY AND YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS YOU CAN'T DO WHAT I DO AND YOU'RE JUST A MISOGYNIST FOR NOT APPRECIATING FANART!"
...no, I'm not kidding. She constantly claims the reason her art isn't taken seriously isn't because it's all the exact same photorealistic portrait pop fanart with little variation, but because art is a male-dominated field that looks down on things women likes and creations by women, like fanart. And she does this all. The. Time. Even when it's not actually relevant to the issue raised, she'll use this soapbox to deflect any criticism of her art.
Good luck catching her going off on one of her textwall male gaze "all Renaissance art is trash because it was made by men" rants though, because as is her modus operandi, she'll bitch anons/critics out, and then later DELETE FUCKING EVERYTHING again. Her blog is a lot more active than it looks. She just cleans it up.
Sure would be a shame if someone were to grab a few screenshots next time they see it cross their dash, wouldn't it?
