Barbie - A More Successful Movie than You'd Think

they knew exactly who they were aiming for with this soundtrack. it fits perfectly with the demographic that would see a barbie movie
Plus, you're not expecting to watch Barbie expecting songs from the likes of either Slayer, Pantera, GG Allin or ICP to be in the soundtrack.

Reactions: cactus and Monolith
I would watch the fuck out of a Barbie movie that had a GG Allin soundtrack.
Actually, I would not mind this either. Having GG Allin in a Barbie soundtrack would've been kino.

That's just the usual Hollywood weirdo who misread their script and then it turns out that the movie is nothing like what they claimed it would be.
Isn't there a troon and bunch of vibrant diverse versions of Barbie and Ken in it? I'm not sure why anyone has been expecting kino from the director of Little Women and the joyless feminist who desexed Harley Quinn.

Margot Robbie was in most other movies that I honestly thought were good.

The only good movies I can find in her entire filmography are The Wolf of Wall Street and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (which was barely good). And in either move, if they replaced her with literally any other non fat white chick, they would've been just as good. Honestly, it really seems like the more screen time she has, the worse a movie is.

here's the cast and crew (and some posters to give you some idea of their dress/roles)
the marketing is really boring and straightforward (because I guess they need their brainless audience to understand everything right away?), it just puts a picture of the actor and the role there and calls it a day. At least, for the Barbies. All the Kens get is "he's a Ken", "you guessed it, he's a Ken", "he's just Ken", etc. Which is a bit condescending when juxtaposed with every single woman having a blatantly described and prestigious career attached to their names, but what else can you expect from something like this lol.
The only exceptions to the "every male gets a "he's a Ken" tagline" rule are Will Ferrel (whose tagline says "please call me mother") and Michael Cera (whose tagline says "there's only one Allan"). Some of the girls also have taglines clarifying that they're human, and nothing else? But there's only two of those.

I guess every "Greta" in this world is cursed to be leftist or something. Every single person I hear about with that name is the most retarded breed of progressive alive today.
also, they made the trans one a doctor
you can't make this shit up

I liked Wolf of Wall Street

Barbie movie gets Vietnam ban over South China Sea map

Vietnam has banned the upcoming Barbie film over a scene featuring a map depicting contested Chinese territorial claims in the South China Sea.
Vietnam is among a number of countries that contest China's claim to almost all of the South China Sea.
The film about the famous doll, which has already taken over social media, is due to release in cinemas on 21 July.
It is unclear which scene depicts what a senior official called the "offensive image" of China's nine-dash line.
The nine-dash line is used in Chinese maps of the South China Sea to show its territorial claims.
Beijing has been building military bases on artificial islands in the area for years and also often conducts naval patrols there in a bid to assert its territorial claims.
In 2016 an international tribunal in The Hague ruled against Chinese claims in the South China Sea, but Beijing did not recognise the judgement.
Film studio Warner Bros' Barbie is not the only production to be banned by Vietnam for featuring the nine-dash line.
In 2019, the DreamWorks animated film Abominable was pulled for the same reason. Three years later, the Sony action movie Uncharted also fell foul of the Department of Cinema, a government body in charge of licensing and censoring foreign films.
Two years ago, Australian spy drama Pine Gap was removed from the Vietnamese market by Netflix, following a complaint from authorities.
China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia and Brunei all have competing claims in the South China Sea.

Ryan Gosling is really making me want to see this movie, but I can’t help but feel like they’re gonna turn him into a villain for the second half of the movie.

Like a gut feeling.

EDIT: And this jackass ain’t helping matters.

Simu Liu also just called himself the "Kenergizer Bunny". It's as cringe as you'd imagine [A]. He's getting easily trolled for this because he's purely cringe & uncool in general.

For those who don't know, he's trying to copy Ryan's "Kenough" here. But Ryan somehow makes it sound cool.

TL;DR:
