Do you remember that scene in Aliens where the marines are getting their asses handed to them by the xenomorphs and Lt. Gorman is back in the APC watching it on the screens completely out of his depth mumbling things like "okay, I ah, want you to fall back by squad, and uh, lay down a supressing fire..." and he's just staring in horror at his own helplessness? And then Ripley takes action and starts up the APC to go and rescue the marines and suddenly he leaps from the chair in anger to try and stop her because he finally has something he can control and deal with?

That's what the authorities are like when there's massive widescale rioting by disordered mobs and they see a bunch of nationalists organizing to take action. They leap from their chair yelling "Ripley!" because if they can't fix the problem they sure as Hell aren't going to let somebody else do it.

I'm fine with regular people defending their homes with extreme prejudice. I don't think it's worth it to go to City Hall or the Police station and demand they fix problems for you.

You don't need to be an icon like Rittenhouse. It is just as useful to be the anonymous people who were shooting at looters off screen, while the cameras were on Kyle taking out scum in the street.

Nobody ever found out who fired the last 8 shots in that famous video, when Kyle gets up and walks backwards, looking for the source of the gunfire behind him. They never will. But the riots stopped the next day, before anyone even found out who Kyle was.

If shitheads come to your neighborhood don't even bother with asking the failed authorities for help and drawing their eyes to you, just deal with it yourselves and clean up yourselves, because those authorities might not do anything to stop the Ferals but as the Rittenhouse case shows they'll sure as hell go after anyone who steps up themselves to deal with it.

The collapse is basically inevitable and I think my predictions depend heavily on how exactly that happens, but either way, something has to rise from the ashes. I think people will look to history for examples of a model society that they should follow. It is tricky though, because there's no surefire indicator of when the collapse will happen, and there's a million and one potential catalysts that could bring about the end times. I'm skeptical of the thought that it will happen within our lifetime. But I think it will be good in the long term, and a thousand years from now, people will look at the West as a beacon of our potential, but also as a cautionary tale of the responsibility that carries with it.
