I would argue that the gender clinics are worse as a kid who grew up from a religious background can always walk away. A child that decides to detransition can't. Their bodies are irrepealably damaged from hormones and surgery. In many cases the detransitioner needs to be on pain pills to deal with the pain that hormones and "gender affirming" surgery did to them. This leads to them being a lifelong patient to big pharma who are the masterminds behind the trans movement with the goal always being to get kids as young as they can to become lifelong patients.
