I thought it would be good to have a place to compare stories of pains, mammo experiences etc.

I have always gotten cysts in my breasts, usually I hardly notice and they go away. I have had two really large/bad ones. The one I currently have has been there for maybe 5 months. It has gone down but I wonder if it'll ever fully go away now. I've gotten an extended mammo session and utrasound & they say it's ok.

This could be for any ladies who want to ask if anybody else has the same problems or "is this normal" questions.

And good thing your cysts go away. Last year a cyst appeared on the scan of one of my ovaries. I cried for a week. Then it disappeared the following month. Good thing.

Can I complain about someone else's ovaries? Because, my wife's ovaries cause me emotional and mental anguish once a month. For some reason they make her get all dour and pissy and snappy for at least a week each month, sometimes longer. I find it quite disheartening.

Great, very timely. My 22-yo daughter got a breast lump checked on ultrasound last week, doc said come back in 6 months it’s just a fibroid. Checked her nodes too, looked good. That’s what I figured would happen, do you guys agree, as long as there’s no changes it’s fine to wait six months?

It's normal for breasts to be asymmetrical in some regard. Think my left boob's smaller than the right. Still wish they were a cup bigger, though, if only because bra-shopping is a fucking pain for someone of my size and whom despises underwire.

My left titty was noticably smaller than my right for many years, and then they abruptly evened out as I have aged. Other than the stretch marks I have no complaints.

If it makes you feel more at ease, you could take your daughter to a different doctor to get a second opinion.

I have something similar to your daughter. Gyno found a lump, I got an ultrasound, and it's just a cyst.

I think if they don't ask to biopsy it, it's okay to wait. I understand your concern though. It's really scary to hear that there's a lump.

I think if they don't ask to biopsy it, it's okay to wait. I understand your concern though. It's really scary to hear that there's a lump.

Also if they do biopsy it, they stab the lump with a thick-ass needle and leave a little titanium marker behind so they can track it later.

My right boob is smaller and I am right handed, I have no idea if it is related (probably not)

My boobs are great but they might have to get yeeted someday because breast cancer runs in my family. I don't think the county health department allows screenings til you're 40.

One of my grandmothers had it (and ultimately died from it). However I don't think she got it til her 60s, and was in her 80s when it reoccurred and killed her. I also know she had to get one yeeted before I was born.

At least it's one of the few kinds of cancers poor people can get screened for, at least in theory.

Lumps can be a symptom of the hormonal bullshit that goes on during the menstrual cycle without being cancerous. If they hurt, can be moved around/feel squishy instead of hard, only appear during the luteal phase (a week or two before your period), there are no skin changes on the breast and/or there's no nipple discharge (but nipple itching is possible and extremely annoying), then they are most likely caused by fibrocystic breast condition and not cancer.

Apparently no one can figure out the exact cause and treatment for FBC but it's said to be linked to estrogen dominance. It may also be more likely to affect those with (hypermobile) Ehlers Danos syndrome. Supposedly it doesn't increase the risk of breast cancer either but it can make it harder to detect (along with having dense breasts). Source: discovering my own titty tumors at age 16, wondering what the fuck is wrong with me and suffering with them into my 30s without succumbing to cancer... Yet.
