In the bad old days, people could and did die from bad teeth. Josh needs to get his sorted out. Not only are they painful, infection can destroy not only tissue but bone as well, and at that point even getting full dentures is problematic because they need a solid structure to sit on.

I'm sorry for this, but this just hit home. I know this is a power level to the extreme, but sometimes ya just gotta let it out, you know? I sincerely apologize, but it seems like some here can relate:

My son’s teeth were destroyed by years of vomiting due to chronic pancreatitis. We finally saved the cash for extractions and dentures, but his blood pressure was sky high, so no-go until BP was controlled. His GP said he had to make the dental work his first priority, because his teeth were wreaking havoc on his system. We have been trying to get his BP under control.

Not soon enough. He died suddenly last week at the age of 42. Suspected heart attack/blood clot.

She doesn't have running water but she's painting. How is she doing things like washing her brushes? I wouldn't be surprised if she's too lazy to even do that and just blows money on a new set of cheap shitty brushes every time she wants to paint. though I once saw her whine about needing brush cleaner in a tweet, even though all you need to wash acrylic brushes is some dish soap and water.

And imagine having rotting teeth and diabetes while your morbidly obese wife screeches at you to haul over some more buckets of water from Meemaw's, all so that she can sit on her ass making shitty elementary school paintings of handmaids playing tub trumpet in the tardis.

Sometimes I get the faintest twinge of sympathy for Joh, he's kind of like Sisyphus with a big blob of yeasty lard instead of a boulder.

It just occurred to me that their cats are definitely not being given enough water or having their water changed regularly. I'm sure they've never been supplied with adequate water, but this is dire even for them; their dumbfuck owners don't even haul enough water to bathe themselves or wash dishes, why would they bother with hauling water just for the cats? They can go outside and find a puddle or something, probably.

Couldn't care less if these idiots dehydrate themselves, but I'm so sad for those poor cats. (And their other critters, the species of which I cannot remember.)

They have a snake and at least one dog. Several years back they ended up keeping a feeder rat as a pet after the snake rejected it, but given the short lifespan of even well bred, properly kept pet rats, I doubt that the rat is still alive.

Also they managed to kill off multiple betta fish, which even when purchased commercially from pet stores and not home-bred will live 3-5 years with ease and if you breed them and don't use growth-acceleration tricks which actually shortens their lifespans overall, they will live 7+ years easily as those fish I used to breed decades ago proved. Longest lived one that I kept for myself lived 9 years.

Oh, I agree. Running water and basic dental healthcare should be human rights, and that includes assholes.

What makes this funny to me is that they had ample time and opportunity to fix both problems. One of Pissa's relatives offered to help but when he didn't drop everything right at once to do it right then and there, Joh harangued and insulted him. Joh then claimed he could do it by himself, and I don't know whether he actually could have done it, but he definetly didn't.

As to Joh's teeth: they somehow have the money to regularly grill duck and shrimps and buy random shit, even though his problems have been around for many years. He could have put money aside to get them pulled, at least, but, again, he didn't.

Still, I would probably feel compassion for them if they hadn't proven to be utterly vile and hateful people without even a shred of empathy for anybody else, human or animal, again and again and again.

Honestly I sympathize with this. If I were her, I would have a very hard time loving myself. Not sure I'd ever learn how to do it.

I don't know what hard decisions she could possibly make. It doesn't seem like she has any other options in terms of housing so she can't be contemplating moving and she doesn't have a job to quit. Only thing I can think of is kicking Josh to the curb.
