Sound of Freedom, a movie based on real life events, chronicles the story of an FBI Agent who goes mercenary in order to hunt down child traffickers in Columbia. It was completed in 2018 by 20th century Fox, just prior to their purchase by the Disney Corporation. Who promptly buried the movie. The actors and producers crowdfunded in order to buy back the rights and are now releasing it via a Christian (Mormon) media distribution company based in Utah.

The movie is apparently very good. Possibly even based and red pilled. It also just dethroned the Disney Summer Tentpole, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny on July 4th.

Have you bought your tickets yet?

Let's see these box office numbers

July 4
July 5

Looks like there is some definite coping and sneeding going on:

Based on the hard numbers alone, Sound of Freedom has already turned a profit in the two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) heading into the July 7th weekend. Based solely on pre release word of mouth.

I had not even heard about this movie before the shrieks started echoing from Berkley. Just reserved my seats for the one screen near where I live. The damn thing is playing at 10:00 PM on a fucking Monday but already a quarter of the seats had been purchased.

My question is, why did Disney bury the movie???
It was "off brand". It does not support "the message(registered trademark)".

Literally the only thing people have to go on are the absolute autists who bothered to go watch this thing in art house theaters or at fucking graveyard shift on a Tuesday.

And it's being compared to watching schindlers list.

There is a scene in the new film “The Sound of Freedom” that is either cinematic artistry or actual footage of real events — I can’t tell. My sinking feeling after watching the film is that it is the latter. The scene is composed of the kind of grainy black and white video produced by closed-circuit security cameras. What the camera “captures” are children literally being yanked from the arms of their mothers and whisked away by kidnappers on motorcycles. It is heart-wrenching to watch.

The “Sound of Freedom,” like “Schindler’s List,” hinges on the seemingly never-ending capacity for human evil. While “Schindler’s List” deals with the inhumanity in Europe 80 years ago, “The Sound of Freedom” rings an alarm about a global evil taking place today.

Not just any distribution company. It's what was previously called VidAngel, a service that acts essentially as a modern-day V-chip.

It's absolutely fucking nuts that that company stepped up to release such a harrowing movie all because Hollywood is that goddamn pozzed. God bless them, literally.

I'll check this one out later, it sounds very interesting and the lead actor gave an interview with JP. He's an interesting guy and he seemed very passionate about this film and the subject of victimized children. He is also turbo Christian and was the guy who played Jesus in Passion of The Christ, fun fact.

Also btw. I saw "Asteroid City" on July 4th in theater. It had gay kiss and was boring don't see it
I thought it was OK. It was an artsy Wes Anderson movie, and I have a soft spot for that. I found the blurred lines between the actors and the characters in the play interesting, I also love zeerust and that whole 50's sci-fi thing.
It wasn't nearly as good as The French Dispatch, where I got to annoy my friend about French shit, and it felt too short and sparse to me as if it were rushed.
I wouldn't recommend it, I wouldn't not recommend it, it's just a film with cool ideas and lackluster execution.

My question is, why did Disney bury the movie???
Because Disney is notorious for being full of pedophiles and groomers and the last thing their executives wanted was to make something they partake daily in look bad. Glad to see a Christian company distributed the movie and have it kick Disney's ass as well as help bring more awareness to an evil practice that both American politicians and corporations are trying to cover up because they all either engage in it or profit from sex trafficking.

My question is, why did Disney bury the movie???
You might think their wokesterism is why they clearly accidentally supported child grooming and molestation. They just innocently fell for some bad propaganda. That they'd deliberately bury something like this for 10 years puts that in a different light doesn't it?

Because grooming kids (specifically the deviant sexualisation of kindergarteners) is inherent to what they are at the most fundamental level. "To me, it wasn’t politics, it was what is right and what is wrong, and that just seemed wrong" (R Iger Feb 2022).

Holy crap, I had forgotten the V-chip existed until you mentioned that. I remember seeing those at Family Christian stores when I was young...90s, I think? Didn't realize they had a service for that, too.

One of the reasons this probably got a good turn out, too, is Angel has been the main distributor for The Chosen for most of its run. I believe Lionsgate is now their distributor? But that series has gotten a lot of press and interest in Angel studios from it. I haven't watched much else on their app, but I have enjoyed what I've seen of Dry Bar Comedy, and all of The Chosen so far. Good stuff.

I didn't realize Disney had owned this for awhile. Not surprised they sat on it...still, glad it got into good hands. God bless them, indeed.
