I won’t pretend that there isn’t some autogynephilic/autoandrophilic aspect that serves as the catalyst for this stuff but most of this and I mean the overwhelming majority of it is a social contagion.

There are good examples with self-harm and self-diagnosis for mental disorders. There are legitimate cases for either but every decade we will receive a mass influx of bullshit cases because it’s become a prevalent social currency to be victimized with younger adults. It goes away quickly because we can weed them out and people grow out of it but this is a particularly difficult social contagion to deal with because it’s being reinforced constantly, nobody is being weeded out and treatment is permanent.

Before, I never understood why LGB and especially Ts consoomed so much rainbow shit. Even though these people live and breathe Marxism--applying the philosophy to literally everything--it is their completely unhinged desire for attention that cripples their chances at any sort of "revolution" even though they so often sperg about "real change". This desire is so strong that their foundational principles can be thrown to the wayside; all that "muh oppressors" shit can be tamed simply by their oppressors pretending to give a fuck.

I don't want to be pulling out the No True Scotsman argument people always use to defend communism, but the Marxism/Socialism/Communism they all profess is something entirely different and new and worth examining to figure out the real politics of trans activists and similarly aligned youth. Even their interchangeable use of Marxism, Socialism, and Communism reveals that. Those are related but different things. It would be like using Keynesianism, Capitalism, and Democracy interchangeably.

Spoiler: Politi-sperging : Trans politics are Capitalist

Obviously I'm using generalizations and considering somewhat ideal cases here, but I think that trans politics are economically center-left but socially hyper-capitalist.

At the core, Marxism is analysis of the political economy starting with the base axiom that value comes from labor and working out from there. The extrapolation leads to Communism as, if value comes from labor, the workers should be the ones who own what is produced from it. Socialism is more of a description of the degree to which governments ought to provide services to their citizens. The collectivization under Communism implies Socialism, but Communism isn't necessarily the end result of 'maximum Socialism'.

Economically, Trans politics is undoubtedly Socialist, they believe that there should be more provided by the government, but they are generally not Marxists or Communists. Their vision of anti-capitalism is literally just capitalism with higher taxes. They'd also probably say that workers deserve higher pay but that's in isolation from any basis in a labor theory of value.

Socially, I argued on here before, they are hyper-capitalists. Their primary day to day social power dynamic that between customer and employee. You can see this clear as crystal when they talk about doctors. They're paying for it so they're the one with authority in the social relationship.

That authority is the promise of Neoliberal Capitalism. You won't have big picture economic power as that will be consolidated into fewer and fewer hands, but personal wealth will give you interpersonal power and authority when you purchase things. I'd argue that this can be a workable definition of the Middle Class in contemporary politics. The Middle Class are those who don't own capital, they are still workers, but they are always the customer and never the employee in these day-to-day interactions. When this customer-employee relationship doesn't lead to the promised power for the customer, it can cause considerable distress if that relationship is what defines your place in society in your eyes.

Having rejected any other externally imposed social roles, these customer-employee relationships are the entire remaining social fabric in trans politics. Permanent social relationships exist only as tenuous friendships that may be severed at no cost other than the lost relationship. Family bonds in trans politics are like 'at will' employees, viewed as mutually voluntary agreements that either may exit at a moment's notice. This is all part of the necessity of rejecting the externally imposed roles given over the years as part of transitioning.

In contrast, think of the often parodied use of the title "comrade" in Communist societies. Putting aside whether this is just a cynically deployed propaganda tool or not,(it probably is,) the idea on paper is that by addressing others in that manner, you're emphasizing that you are mutually obliged to each other as fellow workers. That's the utopian ideal of Communism in a nutshell, each person works out of their sense of obligation to all others. Political prisoners are still comrades, that connection is not broken by wrong-think, at least in the utopian daydream. Communists seek to replace family obligations with obligations to all whereas trans politics seeks to replace family obligation with no obligations.
