Assuming he had savings from his normal job + his Mr Metokur money. It wouldn't be unreasonable that he got funeral arrangements handled and made sure any debts are paid off.

Not only monetary concerns but having any and all paperwork in order. The last thing you want after losing a spouse is to have to run around trying to get the title/registration changed on a car and other things that a lot of people do not think about. Some people have depended on their spouse to handle everything around the household for so long that even paying the bills can be very overwhelming (logistically speaking, knowing login/passwords, etc.). Even with time to prepare, no one knows exactly how they will deal with the loss of a close loved one until it actually happens.

i actually just read up on the whole cancer causing autoimmune issues stuff and its pretty interesting stuff. its a shame jims gotta deal with it since from the sounds of it this is one of those things only obscenely rich people could ever manage to recover from and even then the chances of survival are still pretty slim.

at least he is handling things the best he can and making sure jades not too overwhelmed when he does die. that shit can be very annoying to deal with and people love to take advantage of your grief and make you think you need to pay off bills that are not even in your name or connected to you at all.

If it is just the cancer, that's good but not that he's cured. Jim said the cancer was mild, and easily treatable. The autoimmune was what was killing Jim, and it was preventing treatment of the cancer. IIRC near the end of his streaming he implied that he was going to to ahead with the treatment for the cancer, without the autoimmune stuff figured out. So finding out the cancer has been knocked out is plausible, and surviving it while suffering from a mysterious autoimmune disorder is significant. unfortunately it's far from Jim being out of the woods or healthy.

Still, hope Jim at least feels better.

Really hope this is true. Watching family members waste away from cancer and/or autoimmune disorders is enough to make you never wish that fate on your worst enemy.
