Baldur's Gate III Announced - ...and it's coming to Google Stadia and PC

It is just a joke. Druids fucking in bear form was even a common joke in WoW days. While furry culture is gross and real, not everything is furry culture and this isn't furry shit,
It's just people needing something to be pissed about, and they'll misconstrue it if they have to so they can rant about degeneracy.
especially with how it handled modules, but we are unlikely to get anything like that ever again.
Devs will never allow something like this again unless they could find a way to monetize it very heavily. Bethesda doesn't even want people making mods for free on their games anymore. Sad times.

I'm not seeing this on my steam, in fact if I were the accusing sort I'd say you added those yourself then screenshot it. (Hence why they are a brighter colour than the other tags)
Nope, Steam jannies are apparently moderating the Baldur's Gate 3 page hard now. There was a lot of shit flinging yesterday on the community board and most of yesterdays threads had to be locked. As @Fighting Type Pokemon has said, the marketing appears to have been a double edge sword for Larian and WotC. You have people who are rabidly defending the game and other people going; "How do I get a refund for my early access?" (LMAO! Never pre-order or get early access idiots). Either way, I don't think this game will be remembered well. Despite having Fisto, if you were to ask people about New Vegas the first thing they say is; "Oh! That is that game with the based Mormon!" with Baldur's Gate 3 you are just going to get people saying; "Oh, that is that game with the gay bear sex, right?"
Apparently, I'm hearing stories on other forums of people playing Baldur's Gate 1&2 for the first time on Twitch and Kick. The comments are just filled with people saying; "Is this the gay bear sex game?" "When will we get to the gay bear sex?", "Come on! Get to the bear sex already!" and other bear related jokes. This is how the Baldur's Gate series will be remembered. It is also a good look into who the gay bear sex scene was made for and that was streamers.
It is just a joke. Druids fucking in bear form was even a common joke in WoW days. While furry culture is gross and real, not everything is furry culture and this isn't furry shit, it's a joke from a zany game dev that has this kind of humor.

Just. A. Joke. Bro. Totally not the devs sneaking in their fetish, again. There has to be a point where there is so much fetish shit that you realize that maybe the devs are degenerate. As @Kermit Jizz put it:
This is precisely why all the apathetic "it's just a joke lmfao why do you care about one optional scene" types piss me the fuck off. It's a litmus test, if they think a bestiality scene (that is not played in a ridiculous or mocking tone) is not only fine to put in the game, but ok to broadcast in promotional material, it is 10000% reasonable to assume the rest of the game is going to be gross.

If you shove a bear sex scene in my face I don't owe you the time or money to figure out whether the rest of the game is equally gross. I will simply assume so and do something better with my time. And in this instance it turns out the assumption was right (many such cases).

1. That Dragonborn design is awful. Whoever said that they looked like badly modded Argonians was right on the money.
2. I'm sorry but this is just garbage. When I play a fantasy game, I want to play a fantasy game about adventure and fighting the big bad evil in a magical fantasy setting. I'm not looking to go on dinner dates in the middle of a world ending scenario. Maybe there's a ton of precedent for this that I'm not thinking about, but you didn't see this shit in the OG Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights or Planescape.
Also, they removed stat requirements for multiclassing.
The site is Italian so you may need to translate but here is the gist of it:
Multiplayer.it: We would like to start from multiclassing, given that in the Dungeons and Dragons ruleset its use is rather limited, certainly more than it was in the Divinity system. How did you approach it? Did you make it more flexible and interesting in any way?

Nick Pechenin:
We've changed a couple of ground rules, just to remove possible friction with multiclassing. If you know the rules of the fifth edition of Dungeons and Dragons, you surely know that in order to multiclass there are stat limits that you must respect: we have removed them, there are no more stat requirements and you can make a character with multiple classes in any moment.
The other thing we've changed is how magic users use spell slots, making it less punishing to level more than one magic class. One issue with multiclassing is that if you multiclass early in the game, you don't get strong abilities like "Fireball" at the same level as a "pure" class, but we wanted players to be able to multiclass from the start of the campaign, without having to necessarily wait for the advanced levels, so it was the case to revise the use of resources a bit.

If that second part means that it's not separate class caster level but total multiclassed casters levels which determine which tier spells you can cast then multiclassing is probably very broken.

It was me, its look all wrong and ugly. The fuck its this chest texture? Its fucking scalies? Herpes? Someone at Larian don't fucking know dragonborn are dragon-like, not AIDS-like? Hell. D&D 4e have images how they look without clothes and all.

Btw, i found this is found kinda of funny.

In a one hundred plus hour RPG there is more than enough room for both. Romance is a critical element of stories of all kinds.
I agree! I don't mind romance per say. For instance, everyone loved the romance between Han Solo and Princess Leia in Star Wars and Aragorn and Arwen in Lord of the Rings. However, you didn't see Han and Leia going on dinner dates in the middle of fighting a war with the Empire or Aragorn and Arwen going on romantic trips before a major battle with Sauron's army. Sometimes it is good to have a romance for a character to have in order to increase their morale or give them another good reason to keep fighting the bad guy. However, there needs to be a time and place for what is and isn't appropriate.
I remember when the Citadel DLC for Mass Effect 3 came out which was filled to the brim with fan service content like going on dates with your love interest. Many people ended up criticizing the DLC because you were going on dinner dates and romantic trips with your love interest while the Reapers were mass genociding the universe and ending worlds.
I'm not saying that romance is bad. You just need to figure out what is and isn't appropriate given the scenario. Having a little sexy time with your love interest and unwinding over a campfire or tavern with them isn't bad. But going on dinner dates and romantic trips while the world is about to end or you are being hunted down by evil gods and their servants may not make sense from a story stand point.
BG1 has very little content for companions in general. BG2 popularized CRPG romances. PST also had romances.
I would argue that it was Mass Effect and Dragon Age that popularized romances in RPG's more. Both those games became very popular with women and cultivated a large female fanbase due to the romances with Allister and Garrus. Baldur's Gate 2 didn't really popularize romance in RPG's as those two games did. It was because of Mass Effect and Dragon Age that romances more or less became mandatory when making a RPG.

Edit: LMAO! @gay is downvoting all comments that react positively to me and downvoting anyone who has problems with the game.
there are plenty of posts here that critique the game that have actual merit that i don't think are stupid, your posts that actually go at length to complain about the game are just retarded.

for instance complaining about about romance options existing within the game and how that's supposedly a bad thing, have you considered you don't HAVE to pursue romances and can just bee line straight towards the ending if you feel that's your prerogative to do so? do you think side quests are bad as well since they similarly just allow you to dilly-dally despite there being a more important task at hand? or other extraneous activities like loyalty missions in Mass Effect? was the Citadel DLC in Mass Effect bad because getting to hang out with the companions you've gotten to know across a trilogy bad because the world is ending?

are Larian holding a gun to your fat head, you fucking retard?

oh, AND you fucking sperg about your updoots multiple times like some faggot redditor and then get mad when someone finds your posts autistic, consider being less autistic and have less retarded complaints about features in a game you're not even going to play anyway if you don't want people to think your posts are retarded, it really isn't that hard.

LMAO! Calm down.

Did you guys get pissed at the "French Tickler" gag in Monty Python? This is hilarious and part of why I love Larian. I don't care if you call me a degenerate, they're great devs that don't have a bug up their butt about shit. This just gives you strange options you'd presumably take if you did a pen * paper game, and if you say you played D&D straight-faced and didn't do this shit in tabletop you're really lame. This is how D&D nerds actually play D&D in practice, the theory is all bullshit, the Dead Alewives D&D parody skit that is legendary on the Internet is funny because that is how every game of D&D goes. This is utterly faithful to the D&D experience and it makes me laugh.

Well, you and Larian will free right at home in the Forgotten Relams setting as according to Ed Greenwood:
The current Forgotten Realms material is highly sanitized from Ed's original vision. In FR as created by Ed:

Bisexuality is normal (and yes, this means the men as well as the women)
Transgenderism is encouraged by several deities so that priests can experience life as the other sex
"Revels" (some of which involve sex) are normal
"Festhalls" (many of which employ prostitutes as staff) are relatively common and visiting them is the normal way to spend an evening.
Prostitution is a core industry of the Forgotten Realms; "sex workers" are all over and there are about 40 different names for different kinds of prostitutes.
Incest is a normal way for noble families to "indulge feelings of mutual affection" (poor people don't as they can't afford the contraception)
Pretty much all of the immortal NPCs in the Realms have come to believe that accepted sexual norms such as temperance are bullshit, so they flout them. Constantly.
All of this is confirmed by Ed Greenwood himself via his responses to fan queries on the Candlekeep forum.
I will take those Islamic ratings thank you.

someone challenges you on the arguments you've presented (or rather, regurgitated from /v/) and you cave immediately, shocker.

Ok Coomer

Anyways, goddamn does anyone else think the character models in the game look really off? The Gith looks like a frog, Drow seem to have gray paint for skin and this shit is giving me some serious Mass Effect Andromeda Vibes.

More info about the game. These maybe subject to change but so far:
  • Using consumables is a Bonus Action for everyone;
  • Shove is a Bonus Action for everyone and it's not Knock Prone / Push 5-foot but Push for a huge distance scaling with character Strength;
  • Wizards can learn divine spells from scrolls, including healing ones;
  • Characters can be healed from a distance via throwing potions near them (throwing directly at them causes blunt damage with the risk of killing dying allies); there isn't an option to "Heal Other" with a consumable like in Solasta;
  • Characters can freely swap equipped weapons without penalties; picking stuff from the ground was also completely free iirc;
  • Multiclass not having requirements.
It seems with more that comes out about the game the more it seems like the game was made more in mind for streamers then for OG fans of Baldur's Gate and CRPG's.

However, you didn't see Han and Leia going on dinner dates in the middle of fighting a war with the Empire or Aragorn and Arwen going on romantic trips before a major battle with Sauron's army.
Pacing is important but these are two entirely different mediums. Slower moments in a game this long where you do somewhat mundane shit is a good way to mix things up and is understandable as an offering for the player to pursue, especially considering how often mundane shit like this happens in tabletop.

If your party doesn't have slow moments where you do mundane shit in the game then you're missing out.
if you say you played D&D straight-faced and didn't do this shit in tabletop you're really lame.
I can almost guarantee you that all the people complaining here and elsewhere do not play games IRL, and if they do, they're probably insufferable That Guys who never let anyone have fun.

Bunch of nogames faggots larping like hardcore tabletop players. As if your average session for someone who isn't an insufferable loser isn't full of absurdist shit.

LMAO! Okay coomer.
Boy, the people who didn't like this must of been prudes huh? Name a more unfortunate duo then “DnD” and “Degenerate creep".

Man, Reddit Crab reading obviously made up stories written by people who also don't play games? Guess that showed me.

More evidence of you being one of said insufferable nogames fags. Why are you so mad about this? Do negative reacts really hurt your digital ego this badly? Maybe Reddit would be more your speed.
