And same, I think the only times i've used butter in the kitchen is to butter molds and very rarely on toast. Sunflower oil for baking but even then most people I know have also used olive oil for that plenty of times. 'Tis the tradition...

On the topic of deep frying, there's this guy that owns a churro shop whose tiktoks got super viral a couple of months ago because he filmed his process of frying the churros and the oil he uses isn't the usual extra virgin olive oil but instead orujo olive oil, which has a way darker color. people started messing with him and jokingly insisting that it was dirty motor oil.
He got really angry and made a lot of videos about the comments, then spent money to film a video of him going to the place where the oil itself was made and receiving a tour. good times

There's some very good african food, like Jollof Rice or Thieb, but fufu definitly isn't.
Ethiopian is great. I used to feel guilty because I was eating it when Ethiopians couldn't. Then I realized the savor in the flavor was you were literally taking the food out of an orphan's mouth and laughing at them while you ate the food they didn't have.
 
Nutritional value of potatoes is just calories derived from starch, it's high calorie filler.
The skins also contain a bunch of protein, vitamins, and trace nutrients. You want to get mature potatoes with thick skins and then scoop out most of the starch to get the most nutritional benefit out of them. You can use the inner as a soup thickener, or as a side for a different meal.

Excuse me, but you're a moron who skipped biology class. You can safely set all protein values of non animal food to 0, since your body is never going to use any of that because plant proteins build plant tissues, in fact if any such protein would bypass protective barrier of your body and end up in blood stream, you will receive autoimmune response.
Nutrition of plant matter, with exception of roots and fruits, is abysmal, and the skin you're so autistically fixated on can hardly digest properly.
You're better of eating that cornstarch, just don't forget to put batteries out of smoke detector for the fitting background music.
 
Potato’s are basically the perfect peasant food. They’re a way to get calories and nutrients when have few other sources.

They also taste great and are really good say to make into anything to compliment your meal. The Conquest of the Aztecs, the introduction of massive plagues to the Americas, and the slave trade was worth getting the potato and the tomato.

Proteins aren't just sucked into the blood stream, but are broken down in the gut into amino acids that are used to synthesise new proteins and other structures the body needs. Plant proteins have poorer bioavailability than animal proteins, but that doesn't mean none.

It's also amusing that you fixated on proteins and ignored mention of all the other micronutrients potato skins contain.

And for the record? Not American.

I think the pork belly, while high in fats, mostly unsaturated, has a good amount of high quality protein so it's infinitely better than factory produced meat replacements or carb-laced deep fried rubbish.

I think you'd need to sweat a lot to need that much salt with every dish, but again, the processed shelf stabilized rubbish sold in fast food and bodegas/convenience stores in ghettos is full of salt and anti-oxidants etc.

This isn't particularly hood in short.

I'd eat that and enjoy it. Then again i'd probably eat Auntie Fee's kitchen sink chicken, too. Also, par-boiling fatty meat like that before frying or putting it in the oven to get a better, more crunchy crust is a technique used by chefs all over the world, hardly a hoodrat thing. Usually you only use salted water, though and only put it on a simmer and only the fatty side is submerged. I admit i only clicked the video after posting and am editing my post now. It's 3 AM. I need to sleep.

Point stands, that's some good eating and not hoodrat shit.

That's how you prepare pork belly (minus the salt). Also it lets you sieve the scum off the surface that can give it a funky taste.
