Could you give us a quick introduction of who you are and what you did?
Erm, my name's Josie, you may have seen me on the internet reality TV- show called Fishtank, created by Sam Hyde. Uh.. if you don't know what it is, it was basically a torture house. But these days I'm up on my own thing, I uh do.. art work umm.... *interrupted by noise* These days, post-Fishtank, I'm making artwork, trying to work on Youtube videos, and just getting up to some silly stuff.

Oh yeah, speaking of Fishtank I also happen to be the grand prize winner of the first season. So... I'm a little bit important.

Jon talked about having nightmares about the house after leaving, have you had a similar experience?
I didn't have any nightmares or anything, I feel like I was one of the few that had uh escaped with no mental damage. I'm still the exact same as I was when I went in but I think maybe my lack of uh.. brain.. capac- brain power is probably why I'm not having any nightmares. Uh.. I don't have a lot of thoughts so I wouldn't have a lot of dreams.

Uh as far as how Airsoftfatty's belly button taste, it doesn't taste like anything. Letty licked it first, I went second, I feel like I kinda just licked her saliva so...

Were you aiming to be an influencer type prior to Fishtank?
Prior to Fishtank I had no ambitions to be an influencer of any type or a content creator of any type. I only joined because I wanted a chance at getting some money and I was kind of ... uh... I was fine doing my own thing- what I was doing before I went on. I had- I was working on getting- I've had a lot of jobs [and] was working on getting a normal job and I also had my art where I sell as a little side thing going for me. But it worked out.

So, knowing what you know now, would you enter the hell house again?
Knowing what I know now, I would 100% enter that "hell house" again, it was a great time. It opened up many doors for me. I never thought I would be here at AX but now I'm here thanks to Fishtank, Sam Hyde, Jet and the all of his crew. They really- they mean the world to me. They're the reason I am here today.

Do you get recognized often?
Yeahhhhh I've been recognized a lot more than I expected here actually. A lot of the- A lot of the fan interactions have been really nice. Um... I mean I thought nobody would recognize me but yesterday after my panel I was swarmed by a group of.... fans.... I mean I think they were. But- I mean it's been- it's really awkward, I never know how to handle it. It's uh... I don't know, it's great!

Do you still talk to the others? Do you try to collaborate?
Any time they reach out, I try to respond and I do wanna reach out to them.. I've just been really busy being out. So once I can get in my groove and slow it down, I'm ready to- I wanna reach out to them and get some stuff going on with them. I do have plans to collaborate with uhh a few of them in the future.

Alright last question, do you think you'll appear in season 2 at all?
I would love to appear in season 2, I know a lot of people were saying they wanted me there. So if- if they wanna have me back I'll be glad to show up.

I think if they go about casting carefully for season 2 we're going to see a lot more Mauros. When I was picking through early days I found a lot of moments that you could tell he was not prepared for, as a contestant who didn't know Sam Hyde and literally found the show off Craigslist. Sylvia, Vance, Letty, Damiel, and to some extent Josie all came in knowing the "rating" of the show, as they all knew Sam, and seemed to wait only up until seeing Sam for the first time before Damiel starts talking about drinking cum, Letty dares someone to say the n-word, Sylvia starts graphically describing sex and Vance makes abortion jokes. But every time they advance the "rating" of the show in front of him he's like "what??" IMO it probably wasn't obvious at the time but given Jon was just inflammatory by nature and Simmons' opinion didn't matter, Mauro was definitely an elimination due to being too normie. If they have to get more normies it will be a fight not to scare them off once the TTS starts going "nick grr nick grr" etc.
They got off pretty easy with a cast that would accept and play into how extreme Sam is, and peer pressure kept Mauro in longer than he might otherwise stayed, but if the majority of the cast find "nigger" objectionable it's going to be rough.

I will add... I think having someone like Mauro in the house is a good thing even if it's hard to keep him around, just for as long as they can manage, he occasionally introduced a type of tension the show was missing at times, like when Alex Stein showed up and the only thing he could get his claws into was Letty being a radfem instead of a trad. You need the Tai Nguyen "oh, he said aww da words" guy around.

you like making videos, that is great, but simply making comedy videos is one of the least profitable ventures on the internet

streams arent supposed to be meticulously planned out, "content" does not apply to streaming - the best streaming "content" is generated extemporaneously through chat/superchat interaction - many people watching a stream just want to have something to listen to, because radio has essentially died yet the demand remains

O&A, Howard Stern, etc. were shows that showed that people want to tune in to live talk radio; particularly more unstructured chats, interactions were also an important aspect of these shows (allowing them to find regular listener characters organically, such as various named callers, or visiting fans like Lady Di, etc)

people dont want meticulously planned out gimmicks and timed out segments on 15 minute blocks, they didnt want that in radio 30-10 years ago and they still dont want that

im typing out all this because some people are suggesting you stream once a month, or once a week - i'll tell you rn that'd be a mistake

talk radio shows worked on a 4h/day 5days/week schedule typically, with the most important slot being 6am-10am east coast - afternoon slot was also important

should establish a 3x or 4x /wk rhythm and learn what really works for you on stream, main thing ppl wanna see is you having fun basically

- Tax says he wrote for the show and wasn't just a cameraman. Throughout the stream they pick out the "turnt up lingo" he uses (heads (people), dented (busted), pessice (exactly), OD (a lot? too much? like crazy?), run (do), steez. Tax and Letty are planning a single and an EP.
- Letty uses VK. Can speak in a thick Jamaican accent. Once chatted up a Jamaican guy outside a dispensary when she was 15 to get him to give her weed, he gave her his number and then his girlfriend sent her a text of herself holding a knife with the caption "I'ma poke you up bitch"
- Letty reviews a folder of 4chan posts about her that her friends saved throughout the show.

that's what i wrote last night because i missed 90% of what happened before fortnite, so now i'm going back and adding the notes. still skipping fornite though, fuck that.

Also just to tack this on, I get bored a lot and there were lots of moments where I figured I missed something so I flick through to get answers, I got some you might already have known or might not have.

Spoiler: how jon found the passport, what vance and sylvia talked about in a bathroom

1) In the "why would we let you break her passport motherfucker" bit Jon appears to bolt straight for the passport, it's because earlier he took Letty's bag with Chris, took it to the garage and shook it out and the passport went flying out. He stared at it and then started deliberately stacking trash on it in a "maybe nobody will notice and they'll throw it out and it won't be my fault because they should have been more careful" way.

2) On night 19, when Vance sits with Sylvia while like 100 TTSes come pouring in calling her fat, he struggles to say anything and keeps getting interrupted. Later he and Sylvia go up to the B4 bathroom and talk for about 5 minutes, you might remember it as the moment when Jet comes sneaking in as quietly as possible, listens at the door, then stomps away, and then a few minutes later a shark comes in and chases them out. I fucked with the EQ hard to pick out what was said, it was actually pretty coherent but I can still only really paraphrase it.
One of the first things Vance says is that the audience is fucked up for thinking this is funny (explains why he didn't want to say it on camera) but that they're only doing it because they think it's funny and not because she is in any actual danger. They blame the production for not censoring it. Sylvia says she is okay with the idea of fighting with Letty for content but not if TTS is going to jump in on Letty's side by calling her fat. They blame Letty for using the deadbeat Damiel shit against him as they consider that outside the boundaries of the game too. Then the whole thing derails into wah wah Letty is getting on my nerves wah wah we only pick on her for the game wah wah and the shark shows up and kicks them out.
edit: I forgot to add, something I couldn't hear super clearly but I'm pretty sure I understood was, in response to Sylvia saying she couldn't fight Letty without being called fat, Vance saying that he didn't like being called a snake in response to talking strategy because it discouraged him from strategizing.

I did wonder, it seemed like out of everyone in the Fishtank, Sam had things he wanted to use Jon for but couldn't because Jon can't handle captivity that way. He's got that lost boy, Airsoftish malleability and an obvious arc that Sam probably wants to take him on.
Like if Jon hadn't cracked during schizo, they probably would've blatted Damiel again for good because he was racking up Ls all week on purpose. And then there would've been like, the same number of times Sam took Fatty aside and tried to give him advice about exercise and standup he would've been talking to Jon about business and femawes and shit.
It's not worth copying in the sub-arc that Jon has gone on but more-or-less since sometime last week he's flipped to tweeting a bunch of positivity and productivity stuff and photos of boxing gloves instead of weird angsty stuff like he was before. I'm thinking Sam probably reached out last week and was like, I want you back in New Hampshire sometime soon, on the condition that your head is in the right space to do something positive with this and not childish and spiteful, or whatever.

They're probably the best available but it seems like Jabroney didn't actually keep up with the show himself. People have relied largely on clipped moments and many notable moments were not clipped, surprisingly. Rockystream, a popular clipper, was evidently selective with his clips to the point his clip of Jon leaving cuts out Josie hugging Jon because he doesn't like her. That hug kicked off the rest of the hugs. So the clip "library" is tarnished from the get-go.

• Vance's OSRS stream on Wednesday was OK. His viewership really ate shit though, mostly because OSRS is boring I think. He said he's working on changing up what he does on his streams and said he is going to record a Rainier Beer Driving Challenge sketch (an answer to Tyson's Rainier Pickles one) to open his stream on Sunday, which he wants to put out before releasing a video he already has finished. He streamed with his brother Kaidan and went all of five minutes trying to call his brother by a gamertag before fucking up and saying "Kaidan," looking pissed off and then giving up and calling him Kaidan. I don't know how long he imagined he would keep that up, given by the end of the stream he was talking about things they did together when they were like 13.
• Letty's normal schedule has her streaming yesterday, but she did not. One of the Letty GC people said she was "busy."
• Jon claimed he would stream several times over the last week but has been struggling figuring out how to go live on YouTube so he's cancelled that twice.
