Actually has anyone else noticed an extreme decrease in basic competency lately?

I can't tell if the long awaited boomer holocaust has occurred or society is just so shitty and basic things like housing are so hopelessly out of reach that everyone stopped caring.
Apparently, half of people are unemployed and a good chunk of the other half are wageslaves with no hope of ever having a family or living on their own
why bother at all at this point

There was a article a while back here on the forum, look for it: the competence crisis.

Basically it is a mix of boomers leaving, diversity hires, cargo cult mentality on many big business and enterprises, a collapse in new people wanting to take part into the system and cumulative failures piling up.

The Machine is too big, too complex. It has too many moving parts and far too complicated components. It needs constant repair and maintenance, but the people who did it are all failing at it and it is getting worse and worse.

Think about how complicated something as "simple" for the modern world as making sure the local market on Portland has Avocados. The supply line, the delivery people, the refrigerators and business expenses and employee payments and food safety. Now scale that up to the entire system.

Things are only gonna get worse at this point. It will get really fun once a power substation fails.

Don't be a doomer.

I have it on good authority that if we can just hope hard enough with the power of friendship in our hearts it'll all fix itself. :)

Vivek Shamalamadingdong knows people don’t like wokeshit but he has no concept why people don’t like it. So that’s why he thinks shit like a database that tracks who gets COVID vaccinated is a good idea because he has a pajeet-level understanding of American culture, at least amongst the base he’s trying to get elected with, which is to say none. He’s only going to say and do whatever he can to get elected and then will prioritize what actually matters to himself. The only reason why some pajeets are Republican are because they get to be a bigger fish in a smaller pond. Just smart enough how to trick voters.
Call me late, but the GOP, even Trump doesn't understand the impact this social climate is having on people's lives. As evident with DeSantis' campaigning and Pence's comment on "America not being his concern," this election year boils down to talking points that encourage outrage for mere numbers. The GOP's major victory this term was making abortion a states right. That's it.

Trump's bad judgment of character would cost him long term with his own brand. It's now a competition on who can be the most "based" with no substance. At the end of the day, each respective base will get their numbers and voters out and about for 2024 and beyond.

Most people that are aware of the issues aren't even suggesting that. There are several things you can do that are in your control to make things easier in the future. Focus on what you can change rather then worrying about things you don't control.

Just sitting there and complaining about how fucked everything is isn't going to help. As a matter of fact it's worse than being optimistic because you just become unpleasant to be around. You just make yourself miserable the entire time when you can still work on things and find ways to preserve your future.

Also a LOT of people had rigged up an insurance policy of not really explaining how EVERY part works, which works great for job stability until dumbfuck diversity hire in HR can't understand why it's important to keep the only guy who knows how That Widget works

Another train derailment that had hazardous cargo. What is this, the third time under biden this has happened? The derailment with hazardous materials.

Theres been 48 derailments this year alone. But IIRC from someone on the farms, these happen all the time, regardless of who is POTUS.
It's Philadelphia, a caustic wave of chemicals would only improve the smell and death rates.

i think during that first half of 2020 the average american felt genuine fear for the first time in their lives. everyone processed it differently at the time, but no matter what political "side" of covid you were on it was made clear that both the government and the average citizen was completely incompetent. competent people used their time and assets to get out of having to work at their job, or retired, or to set up safety nets in case their job did go under. families took a close look at their finances and realized having two people working might actually be costing them more money than having the wife stay home to look after the kids. people trapped in their shitty bughiver apartments realized that maybe having more space on the inside and outside of the house wasn't a terrible idea, just in case

now that the people who worked during covid to make their lives better are either out of the workforce, living in smaller cities, or working at better jobs (maybe independent jobs, like that Tasting History guy) all that's left for the low-quality corporate meat grinder are the people who are too ineffectual or stupid to get out of their current situation. dumb people were pushed into doing the jobs of three people, not to mention the peaceful but firey protests of 2020 spurring on massive diversity hiring practices

competent people went "fuck this" and slowly pulled away from general society. the competency and care that the average person put into their job or their community is focused more on their family or their own business/personal interests now. if you're a competent person who's still putting effort into your business you're completely swamped right now because there are fewer choices for everything right now

I'm not even dooming, I'm accepting the reality that politicians only want your votes at your expense. Faith is a strong part of belief.

Reactions: Local Fed
There is a good twitter thread about how the Martin Luther King hospital in L.A., started after the riots in the 60's, was a bastion of affirmative action doctors and nurses, and grew to be the worst hospital in the Los Angeles area, known as Killer King. People would die from treatable wounds and injuries because nurses wouldn't monitor people, deliberately remove their monitors because they were a nuisance, and doctors would mix the wrong pills and injections to patients.

Seems like copium is around everyone after the Tucker Summit, even Gay and Cuck are saying Trump is running away with it. Even others who tried to be neutral or endorse and leave it at that are starting to take some swings at the twitter tards:

All I know is when I go to Taco Bell and ask for a Baja Blast with no ice, I expect no fucking ice. 75% of the time they fuck it up.

Emergency leave has always been fucked. I had to miss the funerals of my grandparents and my great grandparents because they aren't recognized as immediate family members. Only parents, siblings, and kids count, even though my great grandparents were as involved in raising me as my own parents. When they denied my leave for my great grandmother's funeral, I walked into the career planners office, asked to see my reenlistment package, then ripped it in half and threw it in the trash. Around the same time a sergeant from a different shop was given 3 weeks medical leave because the military bought her breast implants as a treatment for her depression.

Taco Bell in general does not give a shit about fuck.

That might be a state-by-state thing, but it doesn't matter what store in what town I go into the absolute apathy for just about ANYTHING in that chain is remarkable.

Maybe putting an unqualified faggot in charge of transportation was a mistake.

He knows why people don't like wokeshit because it's why he doesn't like wokeshit. It provides people he believes to be his lessers a means to exert power over him. I don't think that he would care about how it affects other people if it didn't affect him, but he gets it. It doesn't mean that he believes in freedom in general, only that he wants it for himself. That's better than 90% of the Republican field who are primarily interested in serving their global corporatist masters.

A lot of younger people who are entering the workforce care about nothing more than the paycheck and have no issue letting everyone know it. Take everything you've heard about how terrible working in retail is and put all that frustration into a generation that has little interest in being "professional" and hiding it, and that's how they are. Also add everything that @GunCar Gary posted onto it.
