Cuba’s the prime example of this. The USA blockades Cuba and commies like to point to this as being the source of all of Cuba’s economic woes. Meanwhile Cuba has no such restrictions trading with other large economies like China and the EU and does so happily, and Canadians and Europeans go on vacation to Cuba with regularity which brings useful foreign currency into the country. Yet commies act like Cuba has been unfairly cut off from the world because the US won’t buy stuff from them and it has caused Cuba’s economy to be complete shit.
Same people who say Western sanctions are having no effect on the Russian economy.
The rent around here is truly ridiculous, but if you look at the people complaining about it in our local social media, they seem to think it's the fault of the people living in million dollar houses. (They never mention the 5m+ mansions where the famous people they like live). Several times I have read people salivating over the idea of taking our houses and leveling them into communal housing, or preventing us from passing our property to our children.
It does align with the "everybody is a pedophile" theory. Orphans that never get adopted stay in the custody of the state until they're an adult. Child protection services has facilitated more child abuse than most organizations could dream of. If every orphan was adopted by a loving home, a huge supply of easily abuseable children would dry up. It also falls in line with the recent phenomenon of people believing the state has equal parental rights as the parents themselves.
So who's going to have the time and energy to properly guide and protect these children if they don't get adopted? We don't need more dysfunctional people at this point in time.
