When Dave Chappelle made jokes about trans people, he was declared a monster, a transphobe; a terrible, evil, hateful man. So he puts out The Closer (a fantastic special, by the way). In it, he tries to put an end to all of that by giving a heartfelt story about a trans woman that he befriended, who eventually killed herself (I'll be nice to the dead here lol) because she defended Dave on Twitter and was bullied by the TRA mob.
With any rational group, they would hear this story and go "Oh, Dave actually really got hurt by TRAs bullying his trans friend into suicide, maybe we should lay off." Haha, of course that's not what happened; you faggots chose instead to double down and actually increase the attacks, aided by your good friends in the mainstream media, who will gladly smear the name of a great comedian all in the name of sucking the girldick.
So yeah, no, you don't get to be like "it's just a joke." According to your own movement's rhetoric, nothing is ever a joke. Everything is always serious, every word out of a person's mouth is genuine, and anything that even remotely crosses the lines you've set up is the written or verbal equivalent of a Roman salute.

Trans people take everything, every single word they hear spoken around them, every scene in every show or movie they watch, every word in every book, and every word they see on a screen, and run it through a filter to make sure it passes the "trans affirmation" test. Even the one trans person I know in real life is like this.
