Ok so I had a big update written out but it got deleted by accident, so instead I'll try to sum up what happened.
For our first show, we needed to work with what we had. I figured EC3 and Lashley are fairly popular and talented, and had had some good matches in the past, (although that's no guarantee for this rendition) so a fued that starts with them and then brings in one of our new talents as a breakout star could work fairly well. So they had a big main event match that ended in Lashley driving EC3 into the ground hard enough to injury him (kayfabe of course), to give him a reason to only be in angles, not matches from here on, while still giving his star power a chance to shine.
For the women's match of the night, I booked a quick match between Chelsea and Allie. It was awful, everyone hated it, blah blah blah.
We also had a tag match between the Wolves and Tribunal, and gave Robbie E a 1v1v1 victory over Spuds and Caleb Konley, both of which were mediocre at best.
However, the Lashley EC3 match was enough to get us to a C- rating overall, which for a Cult sized promotion is nothing too shabby, especially from scratch which is always tricky in TEW. Our biggest negative was not having any "story" type matches, something that I overlooked because match aims are one of the new features in 2016 meant to help control the crowd the way a good story writer does.
Our TV rating was a .69, which translates to 524,760 viewers. Not exactly promising, but we aren't even on real channels anymore, we're on Pop, aka the former TV Guide channel FFS. TEW's viewership numbers are going to be off the mark a bunch as this is a modded DB and stuff, and the numbers are totals including foreign broadcasts, not just single broadcaster, so we'll just use that as a baseline. To compare, the last RAW pulled in a 19.32. It should again be stressed these are not Nielsen points, so don't compare them to real ratings, these are on a scale several magnitudes different.
We also secured the contracts with LA Park, Great Sasuke, and Blue Meanie. The others still haven't gotten back to us yet. However unless WWE signs them on an exclusive deal from under our noses, the rest should fall in line by next week's Impact! The real question comes with what the fuck to do with Xplosion, the godawful B show nobody watches. In TEW, B Shows don't have an much of effect on the main brand as far as TV audiences are concerned, and rarely should be used for main storylines. In other words, it's tempting to just let the AI autobooker handle Xplosion, or just gut the show entirely to save money.
Onto the storylines so far, the fued between Abyss and Helms is not going so great naturally, but since nothing has happened that's to be expected.
The one with Lashley and EC3 however shows promise, and has a C+ in heat right now.
Lastly, we have some chemistry updates, chemistry is, unless preset by the mod maker, largely random with some basis in personality and skills. The big takeaway is our announcing team can't work together well, and that Lashley and Ec3 should be booked together more often. Everett also works well with Helms as his mouthpeice, which could help us in our Abyss angle.
Anyway, we're now at the night for Xplosion, so, do we work on that match, or let the lackeys in the TNA
Warehouse HeadQuarters deal with that shitshow so we can focus on the main product.
