Everybody has that one political talking point that politicians use to grift that may or may not slightly annoy you?

What do I mean? I mean, the left always thinks that the right is after kids because of their obsession with removing LGBTQ+ shit from schools, or the right thinks gay people are pedophile rapists that enjoy children

Regardless if you think it's true or not, don't really give 2 fucks. I get recommended a bit of political shit from both sides, so this is why I asked the question.

Anything that relies on conjecture like that LGBT thing you stated. "Oh, you like guns? Then you must automatically be okay with school shooters!" "Oh, you're in favor of giving right-wingers a platform? Then you must agree with their opinions and/or be a literal nazi!" "Oh, you're Jewish? You must automatically hate Palestine's existence!"

It's so tiring and childish but it seems like it's the default for any political argument not done between 200IQ thinktank professionals at this point. I guess that's what happens when the layman gets easy access to political extremism and their accompanying hugboxes.

funny you brought that up because i was watching old count dankula videos when he was really into free speech and all that. i remember a part of one of the videos where he says "if you want to be a free speech activist, you're gonna have to defend a lot of racists" because of that liberal talking point

"oh you support free speech huh? so you literally want nazis to come back and start WW3" "no lilith, i think everybody (including trannies) should be able to say what they want, no matter how retarded or batshit the logic is. you as a person, should have the right to speak your mind"

it's annoying because they use it as a some type of "gotcha" moment like "huh found the racist"

The term "woke." Evidently, it was meant as slang for social consciousness for social issues co-opted by Black people from AAVE. Now, it's a smug term to gaslight people into pushing radical agendas at the expense of people's comfort or logic. Moreover, "woke" has been overused on the opposite end of the aisle as a copout to demean media for forced representation.

Black and white thinking.
Speds wander round either/oring everything and it pisses me off, especially since my usual stance on whatever particular thing has rammed a broomstick up their ass is "Don't give a shit, fuck off before I mangle you."

the idea of talking points in general. talking points are 1) a political marketing strategy, 2) a way to reduce complex topics of discussion to news-ready sound bites, and 3) a way to give ammunition to people who have no opinions or thoughts of their own. one of the worst personality archetypes is the retard with no real opinions other than a vague ideological affinity, who spends all their time building a nest of talking points that make them feel Correct and Intelligent, such that the moment they're challenged they respond with a violent dam burst of dumb bullshit they picked up from some fag on TV or a news article or their favorite Twitter/Facebook/TG politics meme poster. the internet and indeed society as a whole would improve massively overnight if all those people were [redacted]

I really hate when people propose to do something that is obviously not going to work, that we have examples of not working, and often that they would oppose doing if the object of that action were something different. For example, someone proposes a ban on firearms. The next topic for discussion is drugs. The person proposing the weapons ban and the person they were arguing with both suddenly have completely different philosophies on banning things, as if you can only ban one thing, usually the thing you don't like.

The "We shouldn't kill pedophiles, we should just castrate, a find a way to rehabilitate them or just register them in sex offender registry" talking points I've seen when Florida approved Total Pedo Death law, with side talking point of "We as people can't get to chose who lives and who dies, and we can't let the government do that too because they'll just abuse it" I seen in this pseudo-libertarian circlejerks

I mainly dislike these points because
1)The government has been fucking you in the ass for decades, but suddenly
when it comes to executing the worst of humanity, that's where you draw the line?

2) Registering a nonce on the sex offender registry will do nothing, pedos 99% of the time when they are given a second chance reoffend. It's like calling someone that drinks an alcoholic and hoping that the shame from that will make them stop doing those things.

3) Why should a nonce get consideration, especially when that nonce never considered how their victims feel (unless they are sadist that thrive from knowing they inflict pain on their victims)

Think of the children. Gave us shit like Tipper Gore.
I would agree, but at this point in time that’s kind of a genuine concern. A certain few groups are definitely thinking of children- just in the wrong ways.

Seriously though, you’re not wrong. When people started using that shit with things as inconsequential as video games or “satanic books” it became an absolute joke.

I have a heavy dislike of lying for no reason beyond advancing some agenda, and of reality denying. I also kinda hate people that are unable to say "I don't know".
So I kinda hate all politicians and their weak sauce shit

Describing certain policies/topics as 'sexy/unsexy' as way of either handwaving away something important that desperately needs attention (such as crumbling infrastructure) or focusing on low impact, but more emotional talking points (primarily for boomers). It's very weird and somewhat creepy.

That the harsh punishments and stigma that comes with a DUI is a LesSSon or otherwise deserved. A single drink plus a biased test and/or suspicious cop who thinks their social impulses are enough to interpret the law can derail someone's life.

Generally speaking I get really tired of the Republicans are groomers talking points and other deflections when some nonce who is also queer openly is talking about how they love to Fuck kids.

More or less the image below is the annoying whataboutism arguments heard.
