so what makes you think youtube and twitch are gonna turn in girlpisslive.com? you think there's a market for it? where do you think the mainstream audience is gonna go? how big you think that watersports fetishist audience is compared to the mainstream audience?`

see, the issue with that line of thought is that it's shortsighted. some streamers catering to a niche means fuck all for anyone not part of that niche. that niche won't overtake or "turn down" the site because there's simple not enough money behind it (it's a fucking niche), as such it makes zero fucking sense for a platform to cater to them, especially exclusively.
and even in the rare idiocy twitch or youtube think that's their new market, there will be inevitably be another competitor springing up trying to grab the money they left on the table. it's basic supply & demand, and there will always be a bigger mainstream demand.

does twitch have a pool category now? yeah, but now is forced to watch it. I can simply ignore it and watch abigail and nyen.

except you're not laughing about it, otherwise you wouldn't think "it bothers me so much maybe I should stop watching it".

to give you an example, if walmart starts selling girlpiss, who cares? walmart sells literally thousands of products, and I'm not going to walmart because they're so seiso, I go there because it cheap and convenient. now, of course if walmart would start selling ONLY girlpiss I would be annoyed, because I'd have to go shopping somewhere less convenient and probably more expensive, but like I said above the chance this happening is basically nil.

so even if idol starts selling it (which I doubt they ever make official merch), that doesn't mean rin is gonna jump on it, or yuko is making lemonade every stream. yes people jump on bandwagons if they think there's easy money, which is the "noticeable downturn" you saw, but again a market has it's own forces (there's simply not enough room in a niche for an abundance of suppliers), nor does everyone want to make that type of content. amouranth doing her thing has no influence on me watching abigail, and I highly doubt she'll ever go in that direction that I'd have to worry about it (the joke is she's a christian streamer) - and even if she would, I'll re-evaluate then if it's something I wanna watch or if it bothers me too much, not what "might" gonna happen.
another thing is that it can be applied to everything, and that kind of outrage is always annoying "I like nasa, but pippa singing ram ranch and fishman profiting of it bothers me".

dunno, maybe I'm not parasocial enough or hearing about mari's poop antics desensitized me. that stream was certainly funny enough in an unhinged way. :story:

I've been enjoying Ami Amami recently, she's like a mix of 25% Pomu and 75% Rosemi, she likes dropping non-seiso things every now and then to contrast her model, but she's really just happy to stream, which is pretty wholesome. She got teared up just at getting a bunch of gift subs last stream (at 12:47).


Really, all of Prism Gen 5 have been good just like Gen 4. Big booba australian and tomboy guitar girl play into the models with the right amount of tongue-in cheek attitude.

No, I don’t actually think the vtuber industry is going to pivot exclusively to peddling piddle. Yes, I think it’s funny that she was allowed to do this. Yes, I also think it’s disgusting, and that it reflects poorly on her employers. No, I’m probably not going to stop watching her coworkers’ content over it, but it’ll probably nag at me for a time.

I might just be an overly principled moralfag, I dunno.

She's also a pretty great singer, I hope she ends up collabing and doing covers with Pina when she's back next month.

A shame she's in a Jap corpo since she likes cryptid/SCP stuff a lot and their fair use laws, or complete lack of, will likely limit that but being attached to Sony will probably turn out better for her music wise.

but content is content, and as long as she and her viewers had fun, however crass, that's all that matters. ngl some redeems had me in stitches.
