Ukrainian Defensive War against the Russian Invasion - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Piracy in the Black Sea is also retarded because the Black Sea, relatively speaking, is not that big that Russian pirates could avoid getting instantly ambushed by Turkish, Romanian or Bulgarian navies the moment they sail out to attack some civilian transport ships. Piracy, as a general rule, works better when you've got a big, open area to hide out in. Hence why the Golden Age of Piracy almost exclusively involved the Atlantic because it's hard as fuck to patrol.
Old commie era Sergiu Nicolaescu movies. The regime worked so damn hard to instill a national conscience and identity, and often succeeded, with all its flaws.
Song seems/might have been written by German Saxon, Alexandru Adolf Flechtenmacher. It's quite encouraging to see that a German essentially felt so bound to Romania that he wrote patriotic, nationalist songs for it, if true.
Oh well.
PS: that movie is about the Russo-Ottoman war in 1877 or something, can't remember it very well, should rewatch.
Fun trivia is that Romania fought with Russia, and owns a great deal to Russia for that war, basically our independence from kebab. History works in these weird ways.
I really miss the way these old historical war movies were shot. I'm not really sure what makes it so good so I just started calling it "the Waterloo effect".

And yeah it's about the 1877 war but Romania hadn't been under Ottoman control for years by then, that war was more about Bulgarian independence. If anything Romania actually joining in at the 11th hour tipped the battle in favor of the Russians who were having difficulties and IIRC Russia backstabbed them immediately afterwards.

No more doomposting.

His blogs have been entertaining, but he is an evil man who did many evil things in his time, and the reason he gives for being so anti-Putin is that he sees him as too kind to Ukrainians and submissive to NATO.

Rest in piss.

Then again this is Russia, so he might get a million dollar government contract tomorrow.

Also, lel, the nigger got the nigger criminal code article. 282, also known as "churka article" or "wignat suppression article".
He was very hateful against the Ukrainian brother people...

I never noticed it before, but he kinda looks like Ethan Klein

Yeah, saw the news when I got home. It's hilarious that this happened after he badmouthed Putin, it's EXACTLY as someone here predicted earlier - he was allowed to badmouth anyone but the tsar, and the moment he did, he was shitcanned.

Ironic, since Putin's biggest critic, Navalny, was just on trial in kangaroo court for more made up crimes - prosecution is asking for 20 years, same ol' article 282 (because opposing systemic corruption is considered extremist revolutionary activity).
They might even share the same cell eventually, would make for some interesting conversations.
Kek. Brother people...

Some family...
They call themselves that to justify abusing Ukraine like they do with their actual siblings, I suppose. But that's not the kind of family I grew up in.
Bonds are to be cherished, not to be used as some fucked up proof of ownership.

To me it reads like they're incredulous as to why we don't dissolve our being in service to the state. A lot of Russians are just literal bugmen, worse than Chinese

He criticized him before, so the line must've been drawn somewhere else.

Is Russia the only one who produced a lot of these?
Sort of. The West did have a fair number of their own, but they were one of the things that got phased out after the end of the Cold War/early 2000s as no-one really saw a ton of use for them. However then Iraq and Afghanistan came round and people realised they're actually fucking useful and so shit like SMAWs and thermobaric hellfires got made. The main difference in terms of numbers is Russia's MO in using them is the same as with everything else; spray and pray in the general direction of the enemy (hence they made shit like the TOS-1) which requires huge amounts of them. The West however realised that even with how powerful they are they're still better applied using at least an attempt at aiming, hence less numbers more accuracy.

I wonder if it can damage a BMP in any meaningful way.
Absolutely, there's a reason we plastered the absolute shit out of Iraq with them in both wars.

I thought the other day, what would happen if everything went the way Putin wanted? If Ukraine ever became part of Russia, it would've been broken up in oblasts with russified names, everyone would be forced to accept Russian citizenship, Ukrainian language would be extinguished and Ukrainians would become an ethnic minority in greater Russian Federation, if they somehow avoid persecution for identifying as such.
Considering that the official line is that Ukrainians are merely a deviation, "lost brothers" corrupted by Western influence who has to be reminded of their place under Russia's wing as "little Russians", whatever the cost (because it's for your own good, after all), we know pretty well how that would turn out.

Thus it follows that Ukrainians can only have future in independent Ukraine. This is what they're ultimately fighting for.
And Russia is fighting to take it away from them.

When I was growing up, brother nation meant that we had a lot in common, enough to overlook our differences and get along.
Apparently, not enough to actually try to preserve this relationship, rather than use our differences as an excuse to fulfill imperialistic ambitions.
Perhaps that's all it ever was and I was simply too stupid to notice.

Today, July 21, 2023, it became known that Igor Ivanovich Strelkov, Russian military, state and political figure, hero of the Novorossiya militia, was detained in his apartment in Moscow.

Igor Ivanovich is known to the country as a man who does not compromise in the defense of Russia's national interests. This principled position forces his enemies and enemies of our country to use methods of slander and provocation against him.
Igor Ivanovich openly and reasonably criticized the actions of representatives of the authorities, including the President, but the freedom of speech that was granted by the state testified that the country's leadership complied with Article 29 of the Russian Constitution. Today the confidence in this has been undermined - we see that processes are taking place in our country that testify to the departure of the representatives of the authorities from the basic values.

Recently, after the events of June 24 this year, Igor Ivanovich has consistently sought condemnation at the state level of the actions of the illegal armed group - PMC "Wagner" and the activities of its leader Prigozhin E.V., which caused open threats to his address. His detention coincided in time with an attempt to split the organization "Club of Angry Patriots" in the issue of the attitude of the organization to the PMC "Wagner" and the consequences that the continued existence of armed and trained mercenaries, including criminals, unencumbered by the oath of Russia, carries for our country and our people.

We believe that today's detention undermines the confidence of the country's population in the law enforcement agencies, that it is a continuation of the unfair fight against Igor Ivanovich and carries extremely negative consequences for the stability of the country in the conditions of the SMO.

We express our unconditional support to Igor Ivanovich as the leader of the "Club of Angry Patriots", demand that law enforcement officials release Strelkov and make public all those who ordered the next provocation.

WTF Russia is not a dictatorship of the law that protects free speech????

He said the wrong thing at the wrong time. Things are going poor for Russia, Kersch got blown up, Russian offensives are being turned back, Ukraine is pausing its offensives, Putin's being shown to be a bitch by yet another Red Line being ignored re:cluster weapons - Putin needed someone to go after and vent his rage on, and this guy criticized the King too directly at a bad time.

lmao Putin is really going to land up in history as another "Father of the peoples" Stalin-figure. Great job!
Who's next to get lifted for "extremism"? I wonder.
Also, Orban is in my country giving annual trad speech at some university in Hungarian-claimed clay, mostly war stuff, you know the drill, muh Hungarian minority, muh peace, muh economic aid. Full entourage with him. Both sides accuse each other of extremism.
Our locals wanna protest it based on some Christian nationalism stuff (although I'm 99% sure they'd agree with Orban on nearly everything, including Ukraine and Murica/EU/NATO bad), and are accused of extremist nationalism. It's funneh how our local ethnic Magyar party, UDMR, that just got ejected from gobmint, is siding in full with Orban, as if they're not even Romanian citizens (hmmmmmm)
And the Hungarians are accused of extremist anti-European/EU-skeptic/pro-Russia/anti-Ukraine positions too.
Maybe there'll be chimpouts!
