This leads us to fundamental disagreement between conservative and feminists. We conservatives believe a women's natural job is to get married and make babies. Feminists believe that women should enter the workforce so they can support themselves and not get married. They want women to be independent, to be free from men. This is why they raised the age of consent from 12 to 18, to ensure women would not get married and would finish education and enter the workforce. When you normalize that entering the workforce is more important than getting married then we get our current situation and the logical slippery slope of this path is women becoming sex workers.

Lowering the age of consent is part of the anti-feminist package and we're seeing more and more conservatives changing their mind on this subject and that'll keep happening.

Child marriage did happen historically, but it wasn't as common as people think, at least depending on the specific place/time period. Even if women and children were viewed as literal property, people back in the day still knew that marrying and impregnating a girl that wasn't finished growing had a good chance of killing your wife and any potential heirs. And of the child marriages that did happen, a lot were on paper only until the girl was an adult (though sadly not all).
