Honestly, I think that Simon suffers from various mental illnesses at the same time.
He have a somewhat violent nature and is very hateful. The majority of autists aren't very hostile at all.

Most autistic people aren't trying to be arrogant and actually have lots of empathy for others. I don't think Simon's lack of empathy for women is completely due to his autism.

Okay, that's Finland, not Sweden, but still Scandinavia.
And now I feel bad for mixing the beautiful, dreamy world of the Moomin Family with something as monstrous as Simon Öhlund. But on the other hand, maybe it's not the Moomins who get corrupted by Simon, but rather the wickedness of Simon is ameliorated by the Moomins. I'm quite positive that ever-gentle, ever-understanding Moominmamma could somehow re-educate Simon into a kind and loving person. It's kinda weird how many people think that "going out on friday night and drinking" is the number one way to get into a sexual/romantic relationship.
While that does work for some who have a certain mentality, many, maybe even the majority of relationships happen in different ways -- at work, political activist groups, hobbies, sports, etc.
But this, of course, depends on having interests beyond mere "stick part A into hole B".
