I won't lie, I'm from the US, born and raised. I know Russia isn't our ally and would conquer us if they willed it. For all intents and purposes, they are our enemies...

But I don't care. When I see Putin is out signing expanded anti-LGBTQ laws in Russia and ridiculing our ventures into the same socialism that destroyed the Soviet Union, I can't help but feel that the US--that we are the bad guys in this story. Russia deserves to win.

Russia would win against another European state, not a third world African shithole, and your NATO protections would be made irrelevant. You would lose (probably) your closest allies, East Europe, who always admired the US (as it used to be, and as we knew it from a mix of info and propaganda), who would understand they need to rearm, likely nuclear, and find new allies to deal with a emboldened Russian Empire that has zero issues with annexing lands, killing thousands of fellow Slavs, and leveling entire cities.

I hope they don't go as far, they probably think that if the US gets enough humiliation and overseas losses, and retreats from the world, they might be able to capitalize on the disaffection and anger and somehow take over. Needless to say that such a possibility is incredibly far fetched. Almost everyone with actual power in the US would mobilize to take down any "extremism" that might rear its head.

The reality is everyone who wants to fix the system has been summarily replaced or ruled out by those who want to destroy America. At that point, the only "fix" would be upheaval. Americans have not yet been pushed to that point, but TRS is bandwagoning on very common sentiment. How often are people just casually talking about "civil war" in the mainstream? It's wishful thinking.

If upheaval does occur, by the way, it won't be universal. It'll be tribal.

Speaking for my generation, I've accepted the fact that I probably won't seen anything major happen until I'm dead or on my deathbed. Best way I see I can fix things in my time is to raise my kids properly so that they can be the change I want to see in the world.

I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying at all. At the same time, I've accepted there's often a rationale people apply to their fantasies in order to cope. To bounce off what @JIDF-2 was saying, TRS wants a Red Dawn scenario in the same way a lot of young adults flock to the Avengers movies or Hunger Games. Essentially, movies and video games are a coping mechanism for lack of any meaningful conflict experienced in our lives. I'm saying they're despondent because they were never given the opportunity to engage in any meaningful conflict in their lives. Now, I think they tried with Charlottesville but ultimately what Charlottesville proved was nobody was coming to save them, to root for them, to support them. Even Trump half-assed his response to the whole ordeal.

So, yes, indeed. We can look at these pictures and videos and see men who are all too comfortable. Mover, however, they are men who have been conquered by the very decadence they said they were fighting. Notice I constantly refer to their fantasies as "wishful thinking."
