Fast food is really hard up for workers these days, so I can see an employer telling someone like Josh that he'll be trained for a management position—and actually meaning it, because any warm, hireable body that stumbles in the door and agrees to work there will get trained toward management, in the desperate hope that one of them proves to be up to the job.

Now, Josh's passing the training barrier in order to ascend to management is a whole 'nother matter. We all know it's not going to happen; it's just a matter of when he throws his inevitable big, fireable tantrum. Will it be before he realizes he's never getting promoted to management, or after? Given his lack of emotional regulation and impulse control, it'll probably be the former, and if he lasts an entire month, I'll be amazed.

I found it really telling that, when she was making a feeble attempt to rehome a few of the cats, the kitten wasn't among them. Rehoming an actually loved pet, even when it's in the best interests of all involved, is one of the hardest things you can do. Why would you sooner rehome a suppposedly beloved cat you've had for years, than rehome its kitten, who will be less bonded to you yet (and vice versa), and also has a way higher chance of actually being adopted?

It just goes to show that she doesn't give a fuck about her animals, it's all for asspats and narc points, and she's correctly identified that she'd be able to grift harder with a cute kitten over a stressed out, dull-furred, older cat. Blech.

Jacks as in Jack In The Box? I suppose it’s possible they’d take him as like a “shift lead” or some whack title like that. Imagine being 40 and fucking STOKED that you got a manager job in fast food, you sure showed everyone.

It's actually just Jack's, which is basically Alabama Whataburger. (Confusedly, Alabama, does have Jack in the Box as well.) Joh confirmed that he'll be working the Tuscumbia location

Basically, at least from the Yelp reviews, Joh is going to feel right at home. Not like it matters. I can see him going bye bye by the end of next month. Maybe by the end of this month if he actually did become manager.
