I don't know if is Linus or their team but LTT in general shills a lot for Intel and Nvidia.

You can take his infamous video about the Intel ARC GPU where he told his community to buy it because it's competition even if a lot of things didn't worked on it.

Then you have his AMD challenge where Linus "piracy should be a crime" Sebastian ranted for about 10 minutes on WAN show that he removed because he couldn't play the new Zelda game

Shill behavior deserves the Gulag. Listen, competition good and all, but be honest. As for piracy, really for me it depends. I won't give anyone else a rant for it, but for me, Nintendo ROMs and games that haven't been given a English release and have no signs of it happening; not a sin. In any case, the game gets perseved, the important thing really. He's just trying to look good for his money men.

Honestly, Wade is such a contradiction to what Linus is it's crazy, and in a way sad.

Wade is humble, he understands that people have issues with money, and he goes out of his way to respect his viewers that let him have this dream job. He decided that the thing he promised for the patrons is going away? No hard feelings, I'll refund you, you matter more than me, I owe you everything. He knows where he was, how he started and how he got to this point.

Meanwhile Linus is completely detached from reality. He sleeps on money, he has an ego of the size of the whole fucking Milky Way, and he doesn't give a shit if his fans can't afford paying him, he treats them as gullible schmucks he can abuse for more cash. He completely forgot about the days where he had to do shit jobs to get any cash to go by, he is incapable of being humble.

I'm afraid Wade might end up having a "never meet your heroes" situation if he meets Linus on LTX and interacts with him in private. Wade is a country boy that looks up to Linus because he gives him a platform to make his living on, but if we assume that Linus acts like a bigger cunt in private than he does on camera, then it might sour Wade's way of viewing things.

The cost of the Framework + future GPU upgrade cost is greater than the cost of two similarly spec'd normal laptops today.

So why pay the Framework premium when you can spend about the same get an all new laptop in four years where stuff like the screen and other components on the furure will likely be better too?

Seriously, there's no reason to buy a Windows laptop in this day and age. Macbooks are just plain better. If you can't afford the M2, save up to an M1, it's still a better deal. Your Windows-only software will run just fine in Parallels, even really annoying ones like Solidworks.

I feel like the recent MacBook Pros, while not perfect are a step in the right direction and are actually pretty good computers, the M2 MBA sucks though, it overheats and it’s obvious the chassis was not meant for a 5nm processor
The Touch Bar MacBook Pros however are some of the worst things Apple has ever put out, my parents owned one and just about every part of it failed at one point, and that’s not including the other issues such as USB-C only, the useless Touch Bar, the fact it got hot while doing very little at all, etc.

I can buy a car for the price of the current year Macbook Air. Yes there is a reason to buy a cheap windows laptop: wipe it and install your favorite Linux distro. Dunno about you but I use my laptop and desktop for a long time ~8 years on the hardware. I'll buy new storage once in a while but those are mere pocket change compared to anything apple.
