As a man that is not, by any sensible standard, athletic, I'd go and participate entirely in the hopes of destroying some dumb tranny's dream of winning. I could certainly be in better shape, but I'm not fat or on estrogen, and I've never had Frankensteinian surgeries done to my genitals, so I feel I'd have a good (read: almost certain) chance of winning basically any sport if my competitors were all trans "women." The only problem would be if another actual man chose to compete. I guess then I'd have to settle for second place.

I have less than zero interest in basically any sport, but man, seeing some SuperHon crying because a damn dirty "cis" man beat "her?" That would be fucking priceless.

The rationale of the open category is it'd be "cis women" and then "everyone else"" - so men, trans men, trans women and enbies. Consequently they'd already been competing against men.
I guess they could do "Men", "Women" and "Other" but I'm sure "non HRT non binary MAABs" would dominate there. Either way there'd be seething because the trans women athletes who make the biggest stink specifically want to compete with the women because otherwise they can't beat all the women and then get changed with them it's ghettoising and transphobic to say there's not women and here's some links to random science journals that I haven't read that prove there's no performance benefit for being Stunning and Brave.

Even if you build a unisex bathroom trannies will insist on using the women's room unless you explicitly ban them from it. Normal people frequently propose compromises that boil down to "We'll play along with your weird fantasy but we won't treat you like a woman in any situation where it actually matters." Objectively speaking it's pretty generous to play along with their fantasies at all, but for trans people, who spend 80% of their waking life worrying about whether people really see them as the gender they claim or if they're just being nice, it's basically all their worst fears come true.

The real beneficiaries of making businesses add a unisex bathroom would be 1) families with little kids and 2) homeless junkies who need a place to shoot-up.

Yeah I mentioned it before but whenever this subject comes up I'm reminded of the troon who when he whined and kicked up a big enough stink into being allowed to use the women's room, all the real women just started leaving to use the bathroom at the McDonald's across the street, and the troon was fucking seething, wanted the women to be forced to use the bathroom at work, and punished if they refused, it's not about the troons wanting to use the women's room as much as them wanting real women to be forced to be subjected to them using it.
This troon was Big Mad, it wasn't good enough he could use the women's bathroom, he fucking hated the idea that the women whose objections were overruled decided to just not use it at all, he wanted them forced to have to share the room with him.
It's entirely about forcing other people to play along.

Yes, the types of tissues in each sex are made up of the same types of cells. But the number of those cells, the size and density of those cells, vary by quite a bit. Women are not just smaller, weaker men. Something that has apparently been lost on the medical community throughout history. We're just now in my lifetime starting to explore the differences in the sexes beyond the reproductive system. My greatest fear is that medical studies done on women to further our understanding of what makes us different will end up with troons in them, or made entirely of troons.

The comments are a breath of fresh air. Only two sympathetic ones I have seen. Everyone else is saying the hotel was in the right. Lots of people saying decent men stay out of female spaces. I love Twitter 2.0X.

What is wrong with the unisex changing room? It doesn't make his penis get hard. That's literally the only reason he's upset. If he'd been given the key to the men's room, when there's a unisex room available, then being upset would be understandable. But that's not what was given to him, so the only reason he's upset is because he wasn't getting his rocks off.

Him asking for the worker to be reeducated is telling too. He claims he doesn't want the worker punished, but reeducation for following what is probably procedure for the hotel (if in doubt direct them to unisex) IS a punishment and he knows it. He probably really wants her to be fired, but isn't willing to go that far because he's trying to look like he's the good guy here. He probably really thinks she's an evil terf.

Because forcing a service worker who likely doesn't earn a ton of money to take diversity training when she could be working is totally going to make her reconsider her definition of woman. She won't just be annoyed that some butthurt tranny wasted her time over a non-issue lmao

This reminds me of that reddit post about the tranny that wanted to sue his employer because they built an entire separate dressing room for him, and after he refused to use it all the women there migrated to the newer, inferior one and refused to change around him no matter what

No. This is not okay. Trans boys didn't exist in Austen's time. Even cross dressing as a male was probably illegal, and if not the family would likely be shunned by polite society. Was open homosexuality even legal in England at the time? I mean obviously there's no homosexuality in this book, but still.

I also have my doubts that a tranny could possibly write a story with the same cleverness and humor that Jane Austen could. Jane throughly understood the rules of her station in life and mocked them, but in a genteel enough manner that wouldn't offend the vast majority of people. At least that's how it appears to this ignorant 21st century Colonial.

I'm both offended and hope to have a Kiwi Book Club about this book. It can't be worse than Manhunt...
